  1. I watched a Sukunda interview and he mentioned his time with FC Montreal and when it folded in 2016. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Montreal I wonder if there would be an advantage to signing some players from that roster who are available. We may gel quicker. Nevello Yoseke is available https://www.transfermarkt.com/nevello-yoseke/profil/spieler/294761 Marco Dominquez is in Guatemala https://www.transfermarkt.com/marco-dominguez-ramirez/profil/spieler/364671 Philippe Lincourt-Joseph has been rumored to CanPL CPL Transfers‏ @CplTransfers Jan 11
  2. Just went back on the Victor Mendes Article: https://www.thewhig.com/sports/local-sports/local-soccer-coach-part-on-new-national-soccer-league “If you sign a developmental contract, you can play during the season,” he said. “They are allowed to sign and play in the professional league under the condition, but come Aug. 15, which is when all [U Sports] training camps start, will be released back to the university and be allowed to play in that fall season.” Each team in the CPL will be allowed seven international players, but the majority of players on each team will be Canadian

  4. Also looks like Sanoh had a quick trial with TFC https://www.theguardian.pe.ca/sports/soccer/sanoh-ready-to-make-it-count-at-toronto-fc-combine-174796/
  5. Yeah sorry guys. I left Gaudet & Craig off because I thought they'd go younger for Canadians. Also, I thought Oxner was a given since he was drafted. I guess he still needs to earn a contract
  6. I also started scouring the internet for trials/academy players from the Maritimes: Phoenix Roberts 14 year old GK https://globalnews.ca/news/3694559/13-year-old-new-brunswick-soccer-player-first-in-province-to-join-montreal-impact-academy/ Simon Bitar - 15 year old https://www.theguardian.pe.ca/sports/soccer/four-island-soccer-players-going-to-vancouver-whitecaps-fc-camp-106727/ Oscar Marshall, Connor Manuel and Brandon Phelps https://www.impactmontreal.com/fr/post/2017/07/28/academy-scouting-maritimes https://www.impactmontreal.com/en/post/2017/07/29/two-im
  7. I went back to review the Atlantic Selects Roster from the Summer to see who might get a contract: Emmanuel Dolo - He's following the Wanderers and Canpl as the most recent twitter follow: https://www.thetelegram.com/sports/soccer/dolos-desire-132053/ Ibrahim Sanoh http://www.ccaa.ca/sports/msoc/2017-18/releases/2017_msc_poy Jhonattan Cordoba. https://www.thechronicleherald.ca/sports/soccer/western-halifax-going-for-repeat-at-national-soccer-championships-246758/ https://www.canadasoccer.com/cordoba-nickerson-named-nova-scotia-s-best-p160143 Any one else
  8. https://www.canadasoccer.com/national-list-of-officials-s14692 Silviu Petrescu & Dave Gantar are the more well known names.
  9. Since it's Friday!!!!! We must PALANCE!!! Palance A term used by Trinidadians which originated from three words which are PArty, Lime ANd danCE and hence the term palance.
  10. I agree with KW519. There will be plenty of Canadians on the team. Adonijah Reid would be a nice get for HFX.
  11. A few thoughts: Firstly, Derek King (Assistant Coach), former assistant coach of the Trinidad and Tobago men’s football team, who won the TT Pro League twice with Joe Public (2009) and North East Stars (2017) and won TT Super League (Semi-Pro) with Santa Rosa (2018) knows TT talent inside and out. Also, from what I've read the TT leagues have had financial issues. The Pro League implemented a wage structure which saw drastic cuts in salaries for players and members of the technical staff recently. It appears that many of the semi-pro clubs elect to stay semi-pro to be financially stab
  12. Forge looks like the Sigma FC alumni team. Guess Richie Laryea, Kwame Awuah and Jonathan Grant might join
  13. https://www.thewhig.com/sports/local-sports/local-soccer-coach-part-on-new-national-soccer-league A local soccer coach, with connections to Canada’s national teams, has been hired as the head scout of the Halifax Wanderers of the fledgling Canadian Premier League. Victor Mendes, the Royal Military College Paladins men’s soccer head coach, will continue his duties at RMC while scouting Canadian players for the Halifax team, one of seven teams from across Canada playing in the league’s inaugural year this spring. Teams will also be located in Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton, Victoria,
  14. I hope this is true. We need some sort of scouting department. The CanPL Hub‏ @thecanplhub 6m6 minutes ago HFX Wanderers FC have named Victor Mendes as head scout. A former video analyst for the Canadian national team from 2004 to 2012, he will also continue in his role as head coach of the @RMCPaladins. 15. I think my point is being missed. The Club needs more infrastructure to be consistently successful. SH is a fine coach. Everyone knows he's connected. TFC floundered for years without proper club infrastructure and organization going through several coaches. It has very little to do with SH as an individual. As for my comments on Zachary Sukunda being one of the least proven of the signings. I think that's fair given most of the other players have a higher level of pro experience and national team experience. That's not to say Sukunda is a bad player. He's just less proven.
  16. Let me preface this with a statement: I want the Wanderers to do well and I think Halifax will be a great market for a CPL team. It is my primary CPL Team. I met Stephen Hart on multiple occasions. His attitude towards scouting, at least from brief conversations, seem predicated on the "eye of the coach" for player evaluations. My concern is that a proper scouting department will not be established nor will a proper data analytics department be established. I'm also concerned that there will be a lack of oversight on the structuring of contracts for each position player. Frankly
  17. Callum Montgomery https://www.timescolonist.com/sports/victoria-highlander-callum-montgomery-excited-by-soccer-s-bright-future-1.23338479
