For some reason im only getting audio from the torrent. Does anyone know if there's something I can do to get the video working?

You probably don't have the necessary codecs installed.

    a) Download vlc and play the file with that

    B) Download the klite codec pack and play with media player or other player of your choice

I still don't like Dero on that left wing. If we drop the "shield" player (ie Nash this GC) and put a mid behind the striker, this is where I would like to see Dero. He strives when he can go in any direction.

I thought I was the only one that wanted him in the middle. He thrives in that role for Houston.

That said I think having a holding midfielder to reduce pressure and handle the ball distribution played a big part in the success we saw at the Gold Cup. Unless Hutch or De Guzman are always tracking back we'll see the defenders hoofing forward again like we are so used to seeing.

  4. Agreed, I was quite impressed at the number of quality moves forward on the ground throughout the tournament. With the exception of the 2nd half today there was very little hoofing of the ball. Not panicking and keeping to your game will come in time as they players should now know they can score goals.

Hainault had his shaky moments but displayed a lot of poise for a 20 year old in his position, paired with a natural centre half he ought to be very solid.

    Well Done Boys!

  5. Lots of metro areas missing, Miami, Baltimore, Washington DC, Boston...

Population is hardly the only consideration, anyone who follows the NHL knows that Canadian teams do not draw in American cities.

I don't even know that we have enough quality players to meet the domestic (Canadian) player quotas for 2 more MLS teams.

They operate five nationally available cable channels. Surely one of them can show the game live, and the BJ game on delay. Is that really so demanding?

That's exactly what they do. All Canada's Gold Cup matches have been available live one or two of their digital channels. Atlantic Canada got the Gold Cup opener live on their analogue cable instead of TFC.

The matches are there for those willing make an effort to watch.

True enough. But TSN has made more tha a few dollars by purchasing the rights to the CFL games and selling some of those games to the CBC. Would Ted Rogers think there's money to be made by selling the rights to this game to the CBC? Good question.

CBC has shown that they are only interested in weekend sporting events (except hockey playoffs). They don't have any TFC games during the week and the only CFL ones are on Labour Day and Thanksgiving holidays. Only one of their Blue Jays broadcasts is not on a weekend. So I don't know why people seem to think that they would somehow give us better coverage than RSN.
