No no.. defense is played all over the field. Herdman has already stated that US can't handle a press. Play him up top, let him do his thing and let him dog the US on the forecheck

Sancho was not hurt. They took him off for tactical reasons. In other words got dominated by Davies.

Berhalter has stuck his neck out, saying "only a win will suffice" against us.  Totally needless to put that kind of pressure on himself and his team, in what is really not in any way a must win game for them. Alexi Lalas has already called for his head if they lose.  Rookie mistake by Berhalter, especially because everyone knows his was a politically motivated hire (much like Herdman) and thus he will not be fired under any circumstances. A loss will just make him more hated by the fans and media.
Altidore, Pulisic, Steffen and Adams are huge absences for them.  That's arguably their 4 best players gone.  Only 10-12 thousand fans will be in the stadium, and they're just dying to turn on their team and coach.  If we are up at halftime, I fully expect the US to be booed off the pitch.  This is almost a perfect storm for us, we just need to keep doing what we've been doing.  We don't need to take chances or try to reinvent the wheel in 3 days of training. If our players play to their usual level, we will get a result.

Yeah man he can be a starter in the Gold Cup in what is arguably the best CMNT ever! And then work towards two potential World Cups. That beats any youth team option IMO.

Yeah he's a really big underdog to make it into the England senior squad going forward.  There are a lot of really good English players being developed right now as well as a bunch of players in their mid-early twenties already far ahead of him.  Barring a huge jump in development its hard to see, hopefully he comes into the fold for us.

Pulisic is arguably the second best player in the region after Chucky Lozano as of right now.  Look Phonzie has a huge ceiling and is doing great right now and has way more athleticism, but Pulisic has already shined in the Bundesliga and the Champions league and has a very good soccer mind already.  I don't want to rush the comparisons, I think Davies can compete and surpass him but there's still a ways to go to catch him and Pulisic has the advantage of already being at a big club and getting to play on the big stage from a young age, Davies will you'd imagine will take some time to climatize.

Hopefully he can continue to get chances to be a kid and relax away from all the pressures and responsibilities of being such a big talent at such a young age.  He shows absolutely everything you'd want to see from a kid thrust into the spotlight, he speaks and carries himself so well as good as he does on the field, really high hopes for him and the combo of talent/personality/maturity is super impressive.

This may have been true during his time in Orlando (though some attribute his production to the number of chances he got), but for Besiktas and the CMNT, this isn't really the case.
That is one of the reasons why I prefer Cav.  Though neither has been prolific for us, Cav's creates spaces for others - and with the skill we have in mid that will likely also result in team goals.  My concern with Larin as a poacher is that if he isn't getting goals, or is wasteful during clear cut chances, he brings less to the team in terms of secondary contributions.

Robben, Ribery and Gnabry are all very good players with pedigree at the top level.  I think Davies will have every opportunity to get playing time and Kovac really likes players with a profile like Davies.  Its crazy that Davies is still so young but will be competiting with world cup and Champions league winners.  I do think that bringing him along slowly and getting the chance to train and adapt without the pressure of games for the first few months is a good thing.

And they have two fantastic distributors in the middle in Thiago and James and a very good target CF, its got all the ingredients for a young wide player like himself to flourish, especially with Bayern often running away with the league he should have every opportunity to be successful on paper.

They are right that the money is not enough to ensure you have to play the guy first team, not for Bayern. Real Madrid signed Vinicius Jr, for over 40 million Euros, and he plays on the B team at the same level as Ballou, third tier.
They may also be right that there is a period of adaptation. There is for most young players from outside of Europe, like Brazilians, Africans. There is for top quality guys who are not used to what tend to be very tight positional systems in the top Euro teams, where your movement off the ball is strictly watched, for example (esp harder for attacking players to deal with). So all that.
In retrospect, the fact he has played outside back, will probably be something that will have helped him, he does know what it means to have to stay back when required.
He also has the advantage of being the kind of player you can put on the bench, and use late to try to open something up, or if you are winning and under pressure, just use him to counter. He is not going to dismantle the entire system if he is not entirely adapted. It is a low risk sort of sub you can make, and watch how he does.
Now he gets a few weeks off. Then he goes with Canada, then is training with the first team for a few more weeks, then getting a break until they start up again, usually the third week of January in Germany, I think. Good that he'll get a rest, train a bit, adapt a bit, be home for Xmas, then be back in the mini-preseason before they start again. All good as I see it, smooth transition into the team.
The litmus test, as I see it, will be see if they include him in their Champions roster for the knock-out rounds.

Technically they are not season tickets,  you are right. I am just simplifying terms.
You become a club member first, paying a yearly quota, like at a golf club. If you did that you are then an owner and can vote in the board president and petition for changes and legally require whatever according to statutes,  like with any non profit.
Then you get in a waiting list for a permanent seat. The list is long, and turnover slow as seats have hereditary rights--there are people sitting in their grandad's seat which was acquired in 1958. Maybe you refuse to be in the third stand behind goal, so you wait for the spot you prefer. Ten years, fifteen.
Once adjudicated a seat --or 2 together--it's yours for life.  You pay the members quota and the season ticket price each year.   You can go to all official home matches, including Europe and Copa, bar none. You have a members card and enter with it. You can give it to friends but can only resell legally by advising the club and they market the seat through official channels (right now there are tix officially available for the clásico because maybe grandad has a cold or because it raining and 10 degrees in Barcelona).
I am a club member but without a seat. I get game discounts, watch the B team and all youth matches and women free, watch Futsal free (spectacular! ) and get discounts on basketball, handball and even the ice rink. For 175€ a year.
    Cyle Larin etc etc etc.

He trained today with the first team, along with 5 others from the B team.
Not to say I thought it could happen, but I did: after Messi went down injured, and Dembelé had a very sloppy game subbing him vs. Sevilla (his highlights look good but he made very poor decisions with the ball), I thought Valverde might want to look at other left-footed attacking options. But we should be cautious about his options.
He can't play Champions, and our next league game is vs. Real Madrid. Maybe they wanted to rest starters a bit and needed filler from the B.
I think that is him on the left with Lenglet and Rakitic in a "rondo".

Here he is with the other B players, including mid Riki Puig the young baby-faced guy on the left, bearded Abel Ruiz in the middle, a target striker, and Miranda, to his right, who is an outside back who regularly trains with the 1st team.

It sounded to me like she was just trying to promote the womens' game, which is what she should be doing.
Good to see we've finally found a safe space where we can finally bond together over being oppressed by females. It's time men rise up and take what theirs. I wonder where Jordan Peterson sits on this one?

I'm for getting the max strength in the U-20 squad over the Nations League, the vets should be able to get the job done and the U-20 tournament is a shitload of games in a short period of time so having a deep squad will be hugely beneficial since even though some of the teams are minnows you can't play players every other day.  Building a good team and qualifying for the world cup will get these guys playing and building together and getting to play top end competition, that development can really translate down the road and building cohesion through going through adversity together is really valuable.

5 days earlier he was playing 6 time zones over, so I think that would be a good explanation as to why they didn't bring him off the bench in a proper competitive match this week. The reserve game is probably just to keep him fresh, wouldn't read into it too much.
