I was sat 12 rows up right on Millers side in the first half and I thought he did pretty well in the limited amount of stuff he had to do.  He didn't push very high and played fairly conservative allowing Davies lots of rope to attack and he covered the space behind.  Davies doing so much allowed him to basically not get much pressure, that's great and a strong argument to keep Davies there. Also I just don't really think this USA team has a very threatening attack and hasn't shown whatsoever the ability to put a lot of pressure on and create a lot of chances against anyone under Belhalter, so we should game plan to play on the front foot as much as possible.

Davies terrorized the US in the last game, I think its crazy to move him further away from goal when he's by far our biggest threat.

    Davies--David--Hoilett
    ---Arfield--------Osorio
                    Piette
    Miller-Cornelius-Vitoria-Laryea
                Borjan

Let David play as a false 9 and drop into midfield and allow Davies more freedom to move higher and get on the ball, I think this lineup has a bunch of guys who will all press high on the US, we limit the US from playing out and try to win the ball high up the field.  We did a very good job of that in the last game, so I don't think we should change that all too much.  Another LB who plays for Munich never plays that position when he plays for his country (Austria) because he impacts the game so much more playing higher up the field either wide in midfield or as a CM (David Alaba).  We just don't have anyone who can do what Davies can on the ball and he had his way with the US last game, Hoilett/David and Cavallini are good, but Davies is another level and causes chaos running at people or running behind.

I'm in the camp of seeing him at a club like Hoffenheim, Schalke, Bayer Leverkusen, etc. A team where he is guaranteed (almost anyways) minutes and has a chance to play Champions League football. Impressing at a club like that which is a very real outcome can see him make the next step to a legit top club in world football. But I do agree with others that being bought by a team like Bayern isn't impossible.
While I do mainly follow the Premiership in Europe, I'd prefer to see him in the Bundesliga. Not only for the level and style of play but the idea of getting see Davies vs David is just a fantastic thought.
Followed this team for 66% of my life (22 years) and can safely say this is the most exciting time to be a Canadian football supporter. It's been a long time coming but the actual joy (sometimes feels so irrational) I get from watching one of our guys do well has been worth all suffering, annoyance, heartbreak, apathy, and everything else that has come along with being a Canadian football supporter for all these years.

If the number is that high then you can narrow down possible destinations because that's going to be a huge club.  That would put him out of reach of most EPL clubs, never mind Ligue 1 or Bundesliga.

From Canuks Abroad: speculation on transfermarkt that David could break the Belgian league transfer record currently held by Youri  Tielemans (2017) of 26.2 million Euros with a move to the Bundesliga this summer. The recent play of Davies at Bayern and David's strong 2nd season will continue to add fuel to this speculation

Part of Millers good game was having Davies running rampant in front of him.  He puts pressure on the other team and has the wheels to track back and help on defense.

Agree, and on top of that Davies threat will always cause teams to limit the numbers they push forward.  If you give Davies space he'll kill them, if they hold numbers back and focus on him that in itself his him defending and opening up space for us.  We simply don't have another player that has the same kind of threat and that's much more valuable overall to a team because of how it effects the other team at both ends.

I think psychologically its really important for us to get over the hump mentally and realize we can now compete with everyone in concacaf, kicking the US while they are down and keeping their program on the struggle bus is also great for us but in an ideal world we beat them but not so bad that they fire Berhalter.  He's really holding them back, he's trying to apply good ideas in theory but doesn't have the ability to do it well and they're going to likely continue to struggle with him in charge.  Either way we worry about ourselves, and I think a good performance here will really propel us forward, as a group with all the young guys who are doing really well the team has a great chance to grow and gel and really bond.  This team has the chance to be special, hopefully we seize the opportunity.

This is the perfect scenario for Canada to bury the yanks.  If we set up a solid press and close down space in midfield they will make mistakes trying to play out, they don't have the talent on the ball to do it well and it will open up space for guys like Davies and David to exploit.  We get a goal and/or frustrate them they will over commit and play into our hands, Canada has all the momentum and confidence and is a better side then this current US team who has heaped pressure on itself and doesn't seem to be bought into what the coach is doing.

David is also very good on counters resulting from turnovers.  With him and Davis on top, US can't push forward with abandon. David doesn't have the pace of Davies, well no one has, but his straight line speed is very underrated.  He's also an excellent passer on odd man breaks.

I'll take Davies on the wing for this one. We ran every possession through him last time, and he was very effective at getting around Lovitz and setting up chances. If we're going for a win rather than a draw, we need someone who can bring the ball up quickly and effectively, and he's obviously the best option.

There is no way we should be starting him at LB, we can't replicate the threat he has going forward and USA is constantly trying to play out of the back and they are not good at it at all.  If we implement the right game plan we should be pinning the USA back as much as possible and trying to turn the ball over and they don't even get that often into 1 v 1 situations with our fullbacks.  Bayern has great wide players, we don't have similar replacements, we need Davies to counter/press and stretch the Americans as our best attacker on the ball.
