Last year Ayo's touch was noticeably worst than Hamilton, which is really impressive, and he did not do a single positive thing other than his goal. Him being 20 means it doesn't matter too much and he will get better but put any striker in his position with MLS class players like Pozuelo and Piatti setting him up and they'll bag a few as well. Granted his first goal was taken very well.

What?  It most certainly is!   Not for any specific national teams purpose, but for their own.
No owner or GM would ever tell their coaches that part of their job didn't include nurturing and developing the young talent that you already have in the club.  Not that they shouldn't prioritize winning games and getting results on the field in any way, but it's still an important job for all managers!

The MLS teams have also been training that long, but they knew exactly when and where their tournament was taking place. Given that info, it makes more sense for the younger players to train at the higher level.
I guess I don't really understand singling out certain teams for scorn on this issue and praising others when all three MLS teams have already engaged in loans with the CPL (Telfer, Pantemis, Boskovic and Facchineri) and will certainly do so again in the future when everything gets back to normal. There may even be more loans this year, whenever CPL gets underway.

Low key I'd take Ongaro over Ayo right now.

Slow down there, its great to get excited, however, Akindele has managed to put up good seasons including rookie of the year, vs one good game for Ayo.  One game at a time....

"Clearly".  LOL.  It's one decent game.  Let's see him string together some good performances and then maybe he can be compared to those players.

There's something to be said for showing up for one's national team and performing when called upon. You won't find me throwing any shade at Ricketts.

Seriously? It is far too early to be dismissing Cava's run with the Caps! He's played two professional games, that's all.

If he was committed to Canada this performance would have been exciting for me, instead it's just another Canadian who plays for another country having a good match, no excitement there!

I think the couple of sitters that he missed are more telling than the two he got, even the first one which was a cracker of a finish.
It's a small sample size but it's like the Kingsley Coman school of finishing.  You make highlight reel plays and goals but you miss absolute sitters.

Based on what?  2 MLS games and 3 Concacaf champions league games?
Doneil Henry, Derek Cornelius, Steven Vitoria (ugh!), Kamal Miller, Adam Straith all have a larger body of work than he does.  Could probably also include Manjrekar James in that list as well.
Should he be involved?  Sure.  But starting is getting ahead of ourselves.

Sure, but if escapism involves threats, it is inappropriate.  And it doesn't belong here.
