Never apologize for play-by-play. We always appreciate it, and often it is all we got.

Doubly so seeing that RB was such a thin spot for us only a few years ago, remember Petrasso/Godinho were the best we could trot out??.  It seems like we are getting a couple new key pieces emerging out of MLS every year.  Lareya, Ayo, K. Miller, Johnston, Buchanon, all forced themselves into the MNT in the last few years.  ZBG keeps improving, Waterman is settling down at this level, Fraser and Chapman both might hit caerr highs for minutes.  St Clair and Pantemis are waiting in the wings.  No more free caps!! You damn near have to be a MLS starter now to make a canada squad and there is a line forming behind you if you slip up.

Shaffelburg scores his 2nd career MLS goal for TFC vs. Nashville.
Lareya and Osorio also start for TFC.
    Johnston starts for Nashville.

Kennedy's back from injury, playing the full 90. He scored another goal but had it disallowed by VAR on a handball.

Regensburg are fortunate to remain at the top of the table despite another draw.

Cyle had an ok performance in the Beşiktaş v Dortmund match. He started off well, playing with high tempo (Beşiktaş started off really nicely). He looked somewhat dangerous at times but fizzled out after Dortmund scored their first and then second.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do against Sporting and Ajax.

    Watching Dortmund v Beşiktaş
Atiba covered a load of ground and I thought got better as the game progressed. He did indeed have a few sloppy and careless passes (especially in the first half), but as did many Beşiktaş players.

Felt he really grew into the match though and demanded the ball. He also found himself quite high up the pitch alongside Batshuayi on many occasions. Once made a magnificent run and took down a difficult ball, only to lose his footing a bit as the defender recovered.

Unbelievable that he’s doing this at 38 years young.

I completely agree with you on the math aspect.  I just meant that being 35th in the Elo rating gets you some applause, while being 35th on FIFA benefits you in terms of gaining work permits for players and advantageous seedings - something tangible.

Lille would want 35 million euros at least, I'd say. Not going to happen.
The team is in rough enough shape, and they've sold players to get some money back. The new stadium is filling up nicely, they are getting CL income. I don't think they'd let go of him for anything less than a real windfall.

His touch let him down today - was surprisingly extremely sloppy. I actually didn’t find him too slow or lacking energy..he just couldn’t get his touch right.

They've been lively, and have attacked, but are a bit innocent in their own final third. Giving up this goal at the end of the half, very sloppy in a match when they have not been too sloppy at all. So a bit of a shame.
I think you are overstating Atiba's role, he's not playing in critical defensive positions and even on the first goal he was there covering when it may not be his role; anyways, that shot should have been stopped.
