My thoughts after receiving the L1O schedule for 2020. http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports20/20l1o010.htm I say there will still be problems with the playoffs finishing in September. They do however mostly avoid scheduling conflicts with CPL games.

February 17, 2020 York 9 FC Fan Forum and Kit Reveal night. All the audio from the presentation and Q&A. MC Luke Wileman with Angus McNab, Jimmy Brennan and Paul Stalteri. Lots of pictures too! http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports20/20york020.htm Finally an answer to why York has no home games after Labour Day. Could be a problem is York makes the post season.

I counted up the L1O schedule from the 2019 season.
Regular season (16 teams with a 15 game schedule which meant each team held either 7 or 8 home games).
    Friday night hosting of games:
North Mississauga    7 times   (including the night they won the Credit River Cup!)
Windsor TFC, Durham, Darby 6 times
    FC London 4 times
Aurora   1 time      all other teams none (although they might have been the visiting team)
    ………………..……………………………………………………….
Easy to say London and Windsor are out of the York 9 fan range anyway.  Durham and Darby are in the Pickering/Whitby/Oshawa region (well east of Toronto so a tough drive to the 'west' side and arrive by 7pm).
Looks like North Mississauga might have the toughest time...maybe 200 to 300 fans.  Tough for them to move dates because they ground share with Sigma FC at the Paramount Centre however....they are scheduled to move to their own grounds (although could be delayed just like the Toronto LRT on Eglinton)  even to the far side of Mississauga so fans will be further away from the York grounds/fan base.  Maybe changing their location to their own grounds they could choose a different day/night of the weekend. Because of the CPL now owns L1O that may be strongly suggested to them!
    ………………..……………………………………………………………………………..
I will be squeezed because Toronto FC II plays all their home games (except the school day game) on Friday late afternoons.  Now thankfully because they have no stadium lights on the turf field they play on (not allowed to chew up the 'real' grass field) their games start at 4:00pm.  Mostly end by 6:00pm which then gives me an uphill sprint to the parking lot to get to York's stadium by 7:00pm.  That happens four times this season.  Also  TFC II schedule times are listed are so far all 'TBD'.
York weekend games for me meant free parking as the lot north of Steeles was free those days to attract transit riders to travel to downtown Toronto.
The other leagues I don't know about.

I'd say the rush for an eighth team was to cut down on the midweek games as expressed by fans on these message boards and the attendance size at midweek games all of last season.
I could imagine the schedule this season will be "two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday"  Next week repeat!
With the time zones in Canada they could all be matinee games.

Posting something Mediapro and Atleti related, also women's game: the Spanish female league has just signed a collective bargaining agreement, first of its kind in Europe from what they are saying. Mediapro had a hand in getting it done, as did AtMadrid.
Not worth getting into details, but it does establish a minimum salary, a minimum for part-time players (I guess short contracts, academy players), it sets out the base for automatic bonuses for seniority on a team. It ensures holidays (meaning paid holidays).
Not all teams participated in the negotation, as they are not part of the club association at the table, but it is binding for all.
It seems that an extra contribution of 1.1 million euros from Mediapro made it possible for the smaller teams to accept the deal and sweeten the offer as players demanded. This payment was not for media rights, but it does mean they now get first choice of each weekend's match, regardless of the team. The also negotiated a separate deal with At Madrid, who seem to have a privilged relationship with Mediapro. Basically, At Madrid let them do a deal for the more modest clubs, stepping aside, and then negotiated separately from the rest with the company.
This will likely now improve the women's matches on OneSoccer.
It also demonstrates the possible interest of Mediapro in the women's game, if the CPL and CSA choose to go to bat for it.
Edit with some figures: basically all part time contracts have to be minimum 75% and push up to 16,000 euros gross income. It seems the vast majority of contracts in the league are now between 16 and 30 thousand, which gives a take home of between 900 and 1500 a month.
This was accomplished over 14 months negotiation, 30 meetings and a strike last November, and is effective retroactively from last summer.

At this afternoon's Canadian Auto Show Toronto (like 3 km from BMO Field) at the CPL Soccer/Volkswagen Canada booth were Forge FC players players Klaidi Cela and Jonathan Grant shown signing autographs. Kwame Awuah was here earlier and Kyle Bekker couldn't make it.

The official club colours are green, grey, and black (branded by the club as "electric green", "charcoal grey", and "black on black"). These colours symbolize the region's nature (in tandem with the club's environmental focus) and Black Creek.
I remember hearing this at the time but had forgotten it.  This I found on their Wikipedia page.
Try ordering any of these colours at your local paint store!

I got an e-mail yesterday and the second year jersey reveal will be Thursday February 27, 2020 at Dave & Busters (two blocks south west of the Vaughan Centre subway stop (last one on the TTC University line).  They've been there before....their WC Final viewing party was there July 15, 2018!    You have to RSVP them for your reply.

Huitema is onside because she is behind the ball at the moment the pass is played to her. When you are behind the ball, you are not in an offside position, no matter where the defenders are.
As usual, the real officials know more than random message board posters who call themselves "refs". 😂

Isacco still has the head coaching job at York University for both men's and women's teams.
Also back on January 8th, 2020,  Vaughan Soccer Club (they play as Vaughan Azzurri in League 1 Ontario) announced that Sergio DeLuca had returned to their club as their new club technical director.  He was a York 9 FC assistant coach last season.
