    OK.  Analysis in brief.
Decent crowd about average so far for 2021 I'd say.  As lovely a September after as you could excpect but the sunshine did drive quite a few to the concorse to watch, which was very common in 2019 but not so much this year.
Mason making a nusance of himself all match.
    Ledgerwood's goal.  WTF?
Carducci doing his job.  Maybe saved Cavalry a point on the day.
Aleman, who I'm no great fan of for a variety of reasons, props today.  Was waaaay more alert and as always willing to take responsibility and got the honours for doing so.  Keep it up.
Akio an absolute soldier out there today.  Did everything he needed to and more and all of it thankless but necessary work.  Well done.
Shout out to Galhardo and Silva for entirely different reasons but absolutely worth noting.
Match could have gone either way today.  Draw maybe being the most just result.

What a business.   I'd increase our chances of a loss against Mexico in Mexico if it would increase our chances to scoop wins against Jamaica and Panama in October.
Like I wrote, what a business.

So did he basically start getting benched when he started turning down our call ups earlier this year? Or was there some lag.
    I'm imagining this scenario.
Arfield turns down Canada to focus on his club career.
Arfield's club manager looks at the Canada roster and sees Arfield is not on it, suddenly thinking Arfield isn't even good enough to play for Canada.
Arfield's club manager benches him due to Canada snubbing him.

If everything goes according to expectations we should be 48-50 for the January transfer window.
That means our entire national team squad will be automatically eligible for a UK work permit.  This is fairly big news for the program.

If Lille are out of contention in the league and out of the Champions League in December, both of which are pretty much certainties, their well-documented financial issues might see them looking to cash in one or more of David, Botman, and Sanches. Liverpool will always look at whether the player is right before making a move, no matter what the price. So, if David is really on their radar, and I hope he is, then that might be the perfect convergence of player, price, and circumstance to see them pounce.
Also, on one of your above points, Naby Keita cost north of 50m, as well.

Honestly, let's just put 2020 Voyageurs to bed and declare TFC-Forge joint winners.  It's already September, no room in the schedule to put this game in...
Holding this final in July 2022 is and will be a joke and people will simply look at this game as money grab for all parties concerned.

    Absolutely missed opportunity.  Idiots.
As Ted mentioned, what a waste of a brilliant scheme.  Could have been a YouTube hit.  The optics would be hilarious.
Throw in a lovely little 'Cap gear bonfire post match.  Purple star fish dancing all heathen like in the glow....How could you buy that sort of promoting?

I'll say this, and I'm sure even Valour fans will agree with me on this one, but that ref must be nearly ready to start reffing CONCACAF games, because the officiating in that game was awful.

Tons of slow calls, inconsistent calls, the complete lack of bookings through a very chippy game, the handball goal, crashing the net on Henry, the push on on Welshman in the box near the end, the last challenge non-call at the end,

I thought I read it was in Hamilton, but that may be just wishful thinking.
I thought the crowd, though not overly large last night, was pretty enthusiastic. Seemed like most actually knew this game was important!

That was a nice evening down at the stadium, it was a good match which opened up nicely, Henry gave Valour a life line with another completely idiotic balls up, I don't care how good of a shot stopper you are these unforced errors can kill a team hence the nervy end! Forge get 6 days off now before the Concacaf match which I'm really looking forward to, hopefully some players return to fitness and Welshman integrates quickly with the team again!

    GAWD DAMIT.
You're not going to win shit playing only 1 half.  That's no great discovery.  That "theroy" is as old as Netwton's theroy on gravity, 1687.  Try to keep up, lads.
Minor cardiac moment with Ricci there.  Hoooo boy.
Someone explain to me again how Henry is on that team.
In truth not really feeling like Gale & Co. put stock into this match.  Silva put to work.  Certainly pulled his weight tonight.  Certainly needed to.
Might be exactly the sort of test Forge needed at this point.  Bit of work but never any doubt about the outcome if they wanted to put the effort in.
Having a hard time seeing a way forward for Gale after this season.  To be fair he's been handicapped by Valour's structure but that doesn't change matters.

Out of curiosity I went back another World Cup (2014) and checked the place of birth of the French players. There were 2 not born in France. Patrice Evra was born in Senegal, and the reason why I'm posting what I found (because it's interesting), Rio Mavuba's place of birth is listed as "born at sea". Apparently he was born in international waters during the Angolan civil war.

Guys this is a ridiculous comparison. Students are back on campus. The entire area all around the UVic campus is filled with student housing etc. Its like a homecoming thing and the stadium is stumbling distance between beer pong and keg stands. Let's get real

Every sports league on this planet were, and are, terrified that the general public has learned to live without them.  It's a reasonable concern I'd say.  Things were going good for the sports/entertainment industry for a long, long, time.  It realy does feel like people have relearned their social priorities, and for some those priorities have become less abstract than the collective experience of sport.  Have become closer to home as it were.  However..
None of the investing partners in this league expected to make money on this venture any time soon.  I'm also very sure they didn't expect a pandemic to pound their other interests either.  Big picture, everybody is financialy hurting after COVID.  Whether your name is Bob Young, or Winnipeg Football Club, or Atletico Madrid.
All the above being said, the league looks like it'll be expanding, and I doubt that's happening because there are sooo many stupid business people out there who have endured the hardships of this pandemic and are just waiting to be taken advantage of.  Oh, and the Bombers have drawn over 30K for two of their home fixtures this season already.
It might not feel like it just now, DELTA varient be damned, but maybe things may be turning back to normal sooner rather than later.  And that has to be good news for the CPL.
That and the CMNT lighting it up in WCQing.  😊
