    Liam Millar

He had an amazing 75 mins in front of 58000 fans at Celtic Park. The atmosphere was unbelievable. (I was there!!!) He was Completely shattered after the match. He absolutely worked his socks off for the team. It was very disciplined and mature performance in a left mid of a 4 which he hasn’t to my knowledge ever played. A left wing in a front 3 yes not a midfield 4. BBC player ratings of the match he was rated the 3rd best performance on the pitch!! Not bad for his first start against arguably the best team in scotland! Sorry gushing a bit still buzzing. Hopefully first of many starts now! Not many 19 year olds get to make that starting appearance or even ever get to experience that. It has been a fabulous year with ya tin of growth and experiences! Liam’s looking forward to getting back with the National team lads if selected for the Gold cup Dop !!

Unbelievable performance from back to front from the whole team. To come out and beat a league one team with basically a u20 team. Brilliant so incredibly proud of Liam asked to do a job to press and push and run. He put a proper shift in and did all that an more. That dummy near the end and if Curtis would hve put him in he would have scored for sure. so so proud. . No one can ever take that away from him having played for Liverpool FC in the FA Cup team a winning team. lost for words time for a beer

Crazy to say that this way 8 years ago today . Not a lot of people know but Liam was soon CUT from The TFC academy for being to small.(some here do) ... to his credit he didn’t sulk or loose faith he put his head down and went to prove them wrong... sorry for sharing this but all players Are on a different pathway a different road and sometimes it’s good to share that things were never easy. People loose sight of that sometimes. He has a long way to go but has come so far !! my message to all players is to never give up ...

    The Importance of Alphonso Davies

Wow guys, this one was special. I was in the building for this one and got to see Davies up close in a big match. he didn’t offer a ton offensively in this one and was absolutely GASSED by the end. But defensively he was rock solid. There were 3 or 4 times he was a great tackle and 90,000 German soccer fans erupted into ovation for our boy. Late in the second half, he shut down a cross and Kimmich was absolutely fired up about it. Amazing to see and hear in person.

Translation: Has anyone been following Canada for more than ten years? Y'all kids have been spoiled with your streams and your snapchats and your Tiktoks. This is how it used to be in the glory days. You'd be lucky if you could find an audio stream of a bunch of Welsh commentators making fun of the Canadian warmups and you'd like it.

Have learned that this also camp includes 1-2 other friendlies against Caribbean opposition. Looks like Herdman is going Hex or bust. Awesome IMO. Also learned that there will be at least 2-3 new faces for their first MNT camp, including possibly a player from the U17 World Club team. The squad will apparently have a healthy dose U23 eligible players.

Proposal 1: The Phonzie Flu, as recently coined by someone on here could use the short form "Phlu". Proposal 2: Presumably Pulisic doesn't have the Phlu. It was Laryea who shut him down, so I think he must have Laryeangitis.

So I’m his 1000 mins he has 2 goals and 3 assist.(over 2 loans spells) Which he will be the first to tell u is not good enough. The issue is the style of football he is currently playing in doesn’t suit his style.he needs space to run into and most teams sit off him. The SPFL is a tough physical defensive league to play in. Under Steve Clarke they utilised his speed on the counter which he has done some of this season but Alessio plays really a 4-5-1 and Liam sits in the left side of that 5. the football at times is down right depressing and dreadful. Slow defensive sideways and backwards. No intent to get forward. Liam has had some really impressive numbers(see previous article) in regards to dribbles and taking players on ( Top half of the SPFL) but hasn’t had the opportunity really with the end product as of yet. As for the fans it’s a mixed bag they were really keen to see him come back but they don’t feel he’s really reached his potential. And we agree but he’s worked hard to put himself back in the starting 11, 3 starts on the bounce. And happy to see him get mins. The team itself is on a bad run of form which is t helping with no win in 8. It’s his first full season loan and it’s. A steep learning curve. The message is keep improving keep moving forward..... On a side note Harry Paton had a great game today for Ross County and good to see them chatting after the match. Liam and Harry spent time together at Fulham’s youth set up...

A very good balance roster good to see some deserving faces added ... Liam obviously is disappointed but is honoured and thankful for his appearance up to now but understands he must put his head down and work even harder to get back in the squad. It’s part of the journey the ups and downs of football He was in the wider squad... No denying that Tesho has earned his call up with how he has performed this season. no complaints about the roster

    Expectations exceeded

There's a billion threads dedicated to attendance or Ottawa fury blah blah blah but as far as on the field perfomance goes it's hard not to think this league has delivered and then some. If someone told me before this thing started that they'd beat MLS competition and advance in Concacaf League in the FIRST YEAR I would've been blown away. No matter what happens the rest of the season, my expectations have already been exceeded by the level of play from this newborn league.

Liam played 81 mins in a hard fought tough 1-0 win for Kilmarnock!! He played like a lion and ran and ran and gave the right back fits. Only thing missing was a goal! Shattered again in the end and was subbed off but really happy with his effort and output. Happy he gave his all Killie now I’m 3rd with a possibility of Europa League!! Great for him to really build on his match fitness leading up to the gold cup!!

The truth be told Klopp didn’t want a replay they have enough fixtures to play ( Newcastle drew with oxford yesterday and now have a replay) so he has picked a strong team with Salah and Firmino on the bench Liam has been back 2 weeks has 2 goals in 2.25 games for the 23s including a 60 yard worldie vs United.(if only I could share the video!) and has been training in and around the first team. it takes time to break into one of the best teams in the world especially after playing in the SPFL. The level even in training is a million miles apart. his job is to be patient work hard and take it all in. Atm LFC are assessing options for staying or going back out on loan. I trust the people at LFC to know what’s best for Liam. if LFC can win the league early there is talk internally of possibly more of the young players getting opportunities later in the Premier league season. We forget that he has been at Liverpool FC now for 4 years... every pathway is different.. We will see what happens but I hold out hope for a debut but who knows...

MLS is unhappy with the CSA

After hearing Garbers media rounds I was so tempted to cancel my Whitecaps tickets Someone should let him know we're not a colony and we dont need to conveniently create a closed pyramid with his American league on top I would also like to point out to him that a US military base in Germany has produced more US national team players than the MLS has

Sorry long post... We are happy with it. . Like I said not an easy one. Not sure people know how hard it is. So many variables Do you take the higher division club but risk being a squad player and not playing much (look up Ben Woodburn Sheffield United)) and risk losing a year. Or drop down too much and devalue yourself. Do you go abroad but risk not settling and is the different culture too much!? ( I think the French Canadian players settle well in Belgium...) Does the style of the team fit ur style( Liam is direct, quick and need service to feet or in behind he’s not a hold up merchant no offence meant) Does The manager fancy playing young players(Tony Pulis doesn’t avoid at all cost) Do you stay with the reserves in hopes of getting a chance with the first team?!? (Again see Ben)It’s not enough to be good enough they have to like your face..( a longer convo..) As for the Vince question. It’s not to say he’s not in Klopp a long term plans just not now. When he signed his new contract he had a meeting with Klopp where he was told to go learn his trade get game time. Grow as a player. Part of his education... He is under contract for 3 more years. He needs to get out and play. Get 30-40 games under his belt at a good level smash in 10 goals and then be looking to try to push into the first team next summer or look to move permanently after the loan to a mid table prem team or a top champ team.. just how it works. The big clubs hold all cards. Look up Harry Wilson... sorry for the long post again been a tough few weeks...

Scott had a great season. He had more playing time than any other player and scored three (3) goals. Transfermarkt now places his market value at $250 euro. Klagenfurt has extended his contract for two more years. We look forward to seeing his development in the upcoming season. Here's his progression and minutes played in the last 4 seasons (games played, goals scored, yellow cards, red cards and minutes played). The vast majority of the killie fans are sad to see him go sorry. Have a look on twitter look at liams post. im the first to admit we would have liked more output for sure but very tough in a team that hasn’t won in 11 hasn’t scored in 6 and he was playing in a very defensive 451 as a left mid really. He did the best he did. He fought and leaned the best way possible. the truth be told is he is a 20 year old footballer on his first loan who managed in on year to get 35 pro appearances under his belt earning a starting place in a very tough physical SPFL The purpose of his loan was get experience mins and toughness which he did. now he returns for a reset and regroup and possibly heads out again if possible hopefully to a championship team...or try to get involved with the first team sqUad. A welcome challenge for sure but one that’s up to him..

    The Importance of Alphonso Davies

Alaba leaves Bayern exit door open and praises "brave" Davies Bayern Munich’s long-serving left-back David Alaba’s future at the Bundesliga champions appears to be up in the air after he suggested he could see himself leaving the club in the future. The 27-year-old Austria international has a contract at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2021, and has been a first-team fixture under both Niko Kovac and Hansi Flick so far this season. With Canadian youngster Alphonso Davies impressing at left-back and defensive pair Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez injured, Alaba has filled in impressively at centre-back – but their eventual return from injury leaves some doubts around his long-term future in Bavaria. “I’m not worried about that at all,” Alaba told Sport1. “At the moment, we have world-class defenders in our team who are injured. “I know my job right now and I’m trying to help the team. Whether or not I will stay in this position, we’ll find out.” Asked whether he would be seeking a contract extension or looking to move on, he said: “I can imagine both: staying here or taking a different route. “At the moment, however, we have goals here and I want to achieve them with Bayern Munich." For the time being, Alaba is proving a valuable mentor for the 19-year-old Davies. After making four substitute appearances in the first eight Bundesliga games of the season, the Canadian has played 90 minutes in each of Bayern’s last seven league matches. Alaba became Bayern’s youngest-ever player when he made his debut as a 17-year-old in 2010, so he knows the challenges Davies has faced. He, like most of the rest of the Bundesliga, has been hugely impressed with the way the youngster has adapted to his top-flight surroundings. “I was thrown in at the deep end very early, maybe even younger,” Alaba added. “It is nice to see him swimming freely! He is doing really, really well. “He is a boy who wants to develop, who listens and can be guided in training sessions. It’s nice to see him doing well. “He is a player who is very brave, and he improvises well. You need that at the top level these days and he really does it very well.”

I don’t understand. The point of the group stage is to get through. The squad must be managed and rotated it’s not about beating México in the first round it’s about winning the Gold cup. A win in game 1 and 3 guarantees that. This isn’t about personal grudges and friendships it’s about results. Like I said before 3 games in 8 days one in the heat of Pasadena and the 2nd at altitude... followed by a trip across 3 time zones for the 3rd. there is no scenario where the same starting 11 play all three games. No where. Come out strongest in game 1, a version of the team vs T &T is best. Mexico is the best place to rest players in the group stage. Play tight and play for a narrow win or a draw. Exploit speed on the counter. Millar did this versus Celtic in front of 60000... A team wins a game. A squad win the tournament. For the first time in a long time we have a very good squad. Let’s use it.

This is one of the best Canadian soccer twitter feeds but I always have to get my Google translate ready.. "Werder Bremen have hired young Canadian defender Belal Halbouni (20). He was at FC London of League1 Ontario. Initially he will play for the under-23 team." Looking a bit like Stalteri with those curls and probably around the same age of signing. He was also a striker at Western it looks like before converting to defence. Talk about out of left field! Let's hope they can turn him into Diesel 2.0.

Crazy scenes last night totally worth the 14 hr trip!! What an awesome win!! So happy to have been there to experience it!! The thing to notice to me was the way it was a really team of players, a group of lads that are all working for the same thing and Herdman has to take massive credit for that. They way the celebrated together the goal the passion the energy wS amazing!! Liam is absolutely buzzing had drink with him after the game (that was cool too) and was over the moon to be a part of this squad and history!! I can feel big things ahead for this team on the right path... not to get to ahead of outselves but just buzzing!!!

Really happy with Liam’s loan so far 7 starts so far this year including at Celtic Park lin front of 60000... only rested midweek for the cup game. A goal and two game winning assists too... Growing into the pro game more and more every week. This is what he needed minutes on the pitch at a good competitive level. toughen him up too. This wasn’t even a foul. Every week he’s kicked up and down the pitch. But he keeps at it...

@CanadaFan123 I'm calling it now: ZBG & David to each score an own-goal. Jems Geffrard & Mikaël Cantave to each score an own-goal. The game will be tied 2-2. Then Placide will get injured, Haiti will then sub on Josué Duverger who will then proceed to throw the ball into his own net, allowing Canada to win 3-2. Yay!

Hello, A friend of mine found this forum while googling my brother's name. I am surprised how much some of you have been following him. Really impressive. The club wants to keep him, but think that he is not quite ready yet to play. They are very proud of him and he works really hard in training. Right now, he is alternating with the primavera squad and the first team's bench. I have bits of footage that Axel sent me two games ago. I'll try to share them here. If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them. Cheers, Christophe Oh and to be clear his jersey number is 31 now since Scuffet's arrival. He took it in honor of Ederson.
