@BrennanFanHe broke the rules and got banned. After being been banned he broke the rules again by signing up under another identity. What it the point of having any rules if they won't be enforced?

The Belgian league will announce shortly that the remainder of the season is cancelled. Gent finishes as runners up and will start next year in the 3rd round of Champions league qualifying. David also finishes as joint winner of the golden boot with 18 goals, although I am not sure how the tiebreaker is determined. David has more assists and less games played than Mbokani. https://www.transfermarkt.com/belgian-jupiler-pro-league-calls-off-season-club-brugge-celebrate-title-on-the-couch/view/news/358040

No he hasnt. He should..based on what you mentioned...but MLS is a different beast and we have seen plenty of players that should have done well come in and **** the bed. Playing on turf, the long travelling schedule, especially for Vancouver, sometimes it doesnt work, styles dont match etc. I do think he'll do very well, but he hasnt yet.

I've been watching videos of medievil iron smelting. Skills a guy might need in a worst case scenario.

Original story from the Catalan press. @Unnamed Trialist how reliable is this? https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20200401/48258989062/jonatahn-david-barca.html If the Griezmann to PSG swap deal goes through we could see Barca line up with a front three of Neymar, Messi, and....... the Iceman!

    Valour - 2020 Season Thread

Forge, Valour and York didn't even get back to Hume. https://canpl.ca/article/iain-hume-on-onesoccer-hangout-it-looks-like-the-playing-days-are-over On the outside, really poor play from the clubs. Fair enough if they don't need him (could see that at Forge and York) but should be respectful enough to get back to him. Of course it also depends on what channels he used and how he approached the clubs, so not exactly black and white. Valour must have some decent strikers lined up. 🤷‍♂️

68 off the world record... was this non-league Stone Skipping?
  13. 1 point
Well, I think he is definitely close to the best Canadian in MLS. I have him just behind Cavallini (and Cav hasn't proven himself in MLS yet). He and Kaye (and Piette) are close, but Oso has a pretty good resume, as a solid contributor on one of the best MLS teams.

I think "Quarantine cabin fever" has set in. I just watched part of " Stone Skipping Championship" on TSN! And I thought Underwater basket weaving was boring. The next person that tells me soccer is boring I know what to answer.......😀. BTW the winner was 20 skips and the world record is 88. Now you know. In case you were wondering.😁

He started a thread about the Hexagonal (we already have one) making some rather obvious point and then suddenly he and the thread were gone.

Great post @redcard It is clear that mass events are the ones to avoid if you want to keep some control as we move out of the crisis stage into something manageable. So that is sporting events, concerts, nightclubs, as well as weddings or religious holidays and ceremonies. Cruise ships, mass travel to resorts. We have to be realistic: the economy can get back on track in about 80% of sectors without leisure and pleasure. So we have to let that happen when the risk is under control, and do so by regions as well, not hinge the entire nation on one region or focal point doing badly. This suggests that league matches with fans is highly unadvisable. League matches without fans could work, if MediaPro and the clubs decide it is better to have some league rather than no league. But that is a question of costs. Will players consent to extreme reduction of salaries, possible isolation in certain cities or regions, and a short season, playing without fans, just to ensure that 2021 has a bit of a foothold?

    The Road to Qatar.

Best case scenario would be they run out of dates for the hex and are forced to do two groups of 4. I could also foresee them delaying the Gold Cup to 2022 and using June 2021 to play 4 or even 6 games. They'd probably ask for a special exception from FIFA to get player release outside the normal window.

Herdman interview. He's speculating that COVID could lead to another change in format.

We shouldn't be banning long time posters like this. Robert is nuts but I feel like he has earned a place here over the many years this board has existed.
