Chapman is getting starts in Miami too. But this isnt just us picking on TFC, if these guys are not part of your plan, move them on, get something for them. And bring in the pieces you want...I just hard to believe that Endoh, Zav and Mullins are guys you think have more to contribute now and in the future than Singh, Nelsen, Okello, Perruza etc.

OK, and which of TFC veteran and regular starters at CB's haven't been exposed several times??? Singh could do just as well as some of the other clowns currently in the lineup, but at least you'd have tried to build for the future as opposed to trying to hang on to old glory while the ship goes down in flames. That's the frustrating part that people seem to be forgetting. They're failing with the same starting crew going out there starting match after match with the same exact results. Meanwhile they have these "future stars" they're raving about and yet don't seem to trust them to play them regularly enough. Of course they'll make mistakes, they're young and learning. But so are your regular starters, so why are they not trying something new and at least attempt to develop for the future. Then people wonder why we're thrilled when the youngsters get xfers to EU. It's cause we know they'll at least get a look and play, which isn't the case here.

What a move for Fraser that was. Leave TFC and go get actual minutes with the defending MLS Cup champs... absolute no brainer.

if Jebbison and Flores are willling to be capped for this we 100% have to call them. I still believe it’s highly unlikely either will be there though but I certainly hope I’m wrong

I hope someone like Flores looks and thinks playing with this core of highly talented young players between now and 2026 could be great for his career development as well as transformational for the country in which he was born. Look at a country like Wales, they have two stars in Bales and Ramsey which they have surrounded with a capable cast which has taken them far in the last two Euros. And arguably Davies and David could be even bigger in their primes in 2026 than those 2. You add in Larin (he's not young but will be there in 2026), Jebbison, Flores, Buchanan, Corbeanu, Millar, Dias, Rutty, Akinola and these guys must think this would be a really fun group to develop with and be part of. I can actually see the appeal even for someone like Flores choosing us over Mexico as they don't have two players to rival Davies and David nor probably such a good set of young attacking talent. Start now and grow together into 2026. Exciting. Ps. I know I will probably be hopelessly let down in another week.

Either of Flores or Jebbison would be amazing. I want to believe that they both could be joining. Jebbison is more likely for me, I think he's further off the England senior team than Flores is from Mexico's. Mexicans seem to want Flores cap tied now or soon and there is worry now that he's on Canada's provisional squad. It would be a big loss for them and a huge gain for us. Jebbison playing for England is more unlikely and he probably knows that, so is more likely to join Canada if he wants to play senior international tournaments any time soon. My only hope with Flores is that Herdman is using every ounce of his motivational skills to get Flores to buy in to the fact that he could be a main man in Canada's golden revolution and that he can be one of the core of very talented players to turn the sport around in this country. That's pretty exciting for a young kid who grew up here, so hopefully Herdman can tap into that, which I'm sure is what he's doing.

That is 100% true for me as well. If the kids want to come and join the team that is going places, you use two spots to get them on board. It isn’t even a debate for me. If it means leaving a guy like Cav off the roster to help Vancouver in league play, then so be it (and that is just a random example).

  10. Yes that’s an issue we’re trying to figure out. Jamie was out in the boonies with no internet service for a few days, but he will try and get it sorted. We will still figure out how to ship internationally. It’s just a glitch in the system. So hold on for a few days. We will try to ‘announce’ when international memberships are available as we’ve had several requests about this.

Where did all the guys pushing that garbage go eh?? "The TO fans will only support winners and if we "gift" minutes to young CDN we'll lose." Seems to me that the gifting of minutes is going to some vets that cant cut it anymore and bench guys that never were very good. Last year I thought Fraser should get the hell out, now I wonder if Okello and Nelsen shouldnt as well??

Flores and Jebbison made big strides this year, like Corbeanu, and the hype on Flores is high as the sky, he was listed as a top 50 world prospect. I’d imagine capping him is a priority. Jebbison is going to play a lot in the championship, if both were listed, I think they’ll be there.

I think TFCII has won two games in a row (in large part down to the senior squad young guns), which is more than can be said for the senior squad at the moment.

  14. I think this is in the back of Vic's mind and they know they have to find a way to make it happen. Fact is, for a Gold Cup with 16 teams, say four groups, at least 5-6 countries have the stadiums to handle it. Canada could host. Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras. Or you could do co-hosts, even Euros were once Austria-Switzerland. For the US, playing at home in a confederation championship, but where for FIFA rankings it is like they are on neutral ground, is a huge advantage. Just look at their WC qualifying results away from home. They play every two years for maximum FIFA points at home, everyone else away, but the venue is considered neutral. BS. And don't tell me that Mexico gets good crowds in LA--Mexico results in Mexico are far better than in the US in front of expats. If the US had the GC only one of three times (like Canada with the world hockey, for example), their FIFA ranking would drop by at least 10 spots and they would not be getting these artificially favourable seedings all the time.

  15. In the knockout rounds in 2000 we played in front of 18,000 fans against Mexico, 2,800 against T&T, and 7,000 against Colombia. This is why I hate the argument that the Gold Cup is always played in the USA because of attendance. It took them a long time to get the kind of following that they have there. It sucks that USA gets infinite patience while no other countries really get a chance (aside from the occasional one off games).

My Canada 23 man squad for Gold Cup would look like this: GK- Crepeau, Pantemis, St Clair LB- Miller CB- Henry, Vitoria, Kennedy, Singh (cap tie) RB- Laryea, Johnston CM- Eustaquio, Kaye, Arfield, Piette, Osorio, Flores (cap tie) LW- Davies, Pasher CF- David, Jebbison (cap tie), Larin, Akinola (cap tie) RW- Buchanan

Thats just it, they are going with ZAV or ENDOH etc etc, thinking experience or whatever, and where is it getting them?? Worst in the league?? Second worst?? Its getting them nowhere...definition of stupid is doing the same thing over and over. Nelsen's blind dribblin runs, SInghs poor marking, some of that is because of inexperieince and those mistakes will start to work themselves out. The framework is there. The BONES of a good team are still there. Poz, Soteldo, Akinola, Osorio, Laryea, Lawerence, Westberg... hell even mavinga and Slomar should be good enough with help from a DM. A good orginization trims the dead wood and slots in younger better players. Jozy and Bradley are ghosts...whatever Delgado did that made people love him..well he doesnt do it anymore. Tweak it!! Manage bradleys min, you'll get more out of him. Anything Delgado was doing, Priso can do better. Dunn/Singh, Okello, Nelsen, these are the guys who should be picking up more minutes, not Endoh, Zav and Mullins.

Bermuda ain’t shit…one player can’t be all the difference. I prefer to play Haiti again in a “one off”…beat em, and rid the memories of the past and their fans thinking they can compete with us. Show them, and everyone we’re on a new level, even with squad rotation.

  27. An argument could be made that holding the Gold Cup in the US all the time may explain why they have trouble away from home in CONCACAF. Perfect stadiums, no general safety or overnight noise concerns, docile crowds for the most part and playing friendlies against European teams don’t help them acclimatize to away matches.

Good squad. I want to see Gutierrez, but Miller makes sense, as he can play LB and LCB. I would probably take Miller over Vitoria and bring Gutierrez, and that would be more to see both Miller and Gutierrez instead of Vitoria doing anything wrong.

  30. Watched a couple of his matches awhile ago. From what i remember, he's got a great cross, can be flashy on the ball taking on players 1v1, just maybe missing that little bit of explosive speed to really get by his defenders. Stood out for a pretty bad team, think he definitely can play in a better league. Will be interesting to see how he does with Zurich.

Didn't see the Houston game but Pasher started and scored in a 2-2 draw against Portland. That's 2 goals and an assist across 6 games now. He was tied for top rated on the team with an 8.9, as per my goal app. Pasher seemed like an easy cut a few days ago, but if he continues this form it's hard to not see him making the squad.

Very encouraging, especially considering they were relegated. He will surely continue with the second team, but the club playing down in the 2.Bundesliga makes it a little more realistic he could get a chance. You just never know.

im a little confused, your saying we should play Singh more despite the team allowing more goals when he's on? Some context is important to. Singh has 2 starts in mls. We allowed 6 goals in those 2 matches. Those matches were against Vancouver and Montreal..... that's absolutely shocking. Like i said the guy isn't even good in the USL-1 right now. He's been responsible for a couple of goals there and has been burned several times by USL-1 players 1v1. Sorry, he has to actually start playing well in a lower division before getting more chances for TFC.

SIngh looked worse than ZAV...or Slomar?? Cripes even Mavinga has had several bad plays damn near every game, and he is supposedly a star and making a ton of cash. Very frustrating...if SIngh is anywhere near Zavs level he should be getting those minutes. WHat have you got to lose? Singh might get better, and prob will with more games, Zav is Zav, not getting better only getting a few more weeks closer to retirement. The defense being a shambles isnt all on them, the 2 overpaid, overhyped vets in front of them most of the time are not doing them any favors. Not a coincedence the defense looks better with Priso in there. Cripes, we have great fullbacks, Lawerence is still capable and a good signing...with a DM in front that doesnt half ass it, it makes the CB job a bit easier and the whole unit will look better. Same thing for Nelsen. Does Endoh do anything nelsen cant at this point? Maybe...but will Endoh get any better?? Nelsen will with more reps and more confidence. Why Endoh is getting garbage time minutes is beyond me. I sure hope Nelsen to TFC2 is just a stop gap measure to get him in his groove with a nice run down there, then he comes back and we dont have to see Delgado or Endoh at the wing again this season. And we dont need to see anymore of AURO in the midfield....its like Armas is going out of his way to bury the young players they were bragging up all spring. 2-3 losses and Armas threw all that "play the kids" horseshit out the window. Thses f#ckin coaches can be ruthless with kids, but not with vets. 2 vets in the center of the park could use a benching, or call it a rest even. One of them can play better than he has been, and you would expect more from the leader of the club.

Seemed like a longer term partnership and certainly one that was growing year to year. Good call on the olympics, quite possible they didn't want to pay just to stream it or maybe OneSoccer bumped up their demands who knows. Still hope they work something out. The reach of CBC is an absolute win for the league. Just give us a Soccer Night In Canada weekly highlights show.

Looks like Jayden had another good game for TFC II with 2 goals in a 3-1 win. That is the 2nd top performance from Nelson in 3 games with JMR getting the other one. Also Luke Singh looking strong as well. At least those 3 seem to be performing well for TFC II.
