  1. Checking the news and found this SKY interview with him from a couple days ago, I think. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/12312589/theo-corbeanu-interview-wolves-teenager-on-premier-league-debut-his-canada-goal-and-global-ambitions Some national team mentions: "It is a success shared with his family. His mother cried when she saw him celebrating within minutes of coming on in a World Cup qualifier for Canada against Bermuda. A huge smile beams from Corbeanu's face as he recalls his family's pride at his accomplishment. "They were expecting me maybe to come on in the last minute," he tells Sky Sports. "They were not expecting me to do what I did. The coach just said to make an impact. My first touch, I scored a goal. "It was definitely one of the best moments of my life, for sure. "That whole trip was like a dream."" ... "The season at Wolves is not quite over yet, but Corbeanu has commitments beyond. As many as four World Cup qualifiers await in June as Canada hope to take a step closer to Qatar next year. "We want to be the golden generation who do that," he says." .... "I am still a teenager right now but I want to make my name globally. That is my goal, to be one of the best. That is my ambition. To play in the Premier League with Wolves and to get some caps, some starts, for Canada and build from there."

Gonna bump this thread the next time complaints about the soccer media in this country start coming up. You get what you pay for and it looks like many around here aren't willing to dish out $12 a year.

  3. Is it just me or is TFC's whole gameplan and strategy become just market the youngsters as much as possible without actually playing them? What's going on, are they paying guys to tweet and hype them up and hope for a $$$ transfer based on youtube videos from when they were 15 yrs old? This team is going nowhere as long as Gonzalez, Bradley, Altidore and Delgado are main components and regular starters. At some point they're gonna have to turn the page, and develop and build for the future. They're losing anyway, might as well do it with the younglings.

Wow. So happy for Jo. Literally didn’t miss a game all season and even though it was tough sometimes, this makes it so worth it. Especially after he was struggling so much at the start of the season, I definitely had my doubts. But he proved all the doubters wrong (all the Americans on social media calling him trash and that Weah needs to start or the Turkish fans demanding Yazici to play more bc David wasn’t scoring). He put his head down, stuck with it and was of the main contributors on this title-winning team. He will go down in Lille history. He stepped up and scored many important goals (especially with Burak out). Incredible stuff and goes to show how strong his mentality is. Amazing time to be a Canadian footy fan (FINALLY!!!!) and I think we’re in good hands for the years to come.

10 matches in if you'd told me at this point Lille would be 45 away from their 1st league title in a decade I wouldn't have believed you. Their luck couldn't hold forever. Shows what I know.

The real problem is folks are too lazy to read and summarize. That preserves the integrity of the content and allows access to the information just the same. Citing and summarizing a source is not plagiarism BTW.

    Scott Kennedy

Kennedy made some key tackles today, and Regensburg played their best game all year. What's kinda strange to me is that when Kennedy first arrived in 2. Bundesliga, people were immediately ranking him as a starter for us, but when he actually started playing (and succeeding at a way higher level than he'd ever played), we didn't seem to rate him to the same extent for some reason. Maybe because the bottom half of 2. Bundesliga isn't quite as high a level as we thought? It's still a very good league, and it's a great achievement that he broke through after such a step up, and he was fantastic in Pokal. Hopefully they can be more competitive next year. This team finished 5th a few years ago, so you never know!

Congrats David! What a 2021 for the kid. Lets hope he brings this swagger and hot streak to the WCQ. When I saw he signed with Lille I knew they would compete for a Champions League but no way in hell I saw them taking Neymar and Mbappe and PSG! Unbelievable.

I love the quote from Armas “we’ve got to get him games”... so why only a 9 game loan?...so he can come back to TFCII and sporadically make the bench on a call up behind Dwyer, Akinola, DeLeon and Mullins? Kid should have bolted for Europe when he had the chance.

Don't worry, the internet police aren't going to show up at your door, I promise. I highly doubt anyone here is going to sign up for the Athletic just to read an article on Liam Millar, with all due respect to the kid. Those who are willing to pay for Athletic content already are, and a single article isn't going to change that. But we're all very impressed with your moral fibre.

I subscribe to The Athletic (which has a real good deal on at the moment) and appreciate the link as I may not have seen the article otherwise. I don’t subscribe to the Globe&Mail or The Star but if there was a feature article on a CMNT player and the link was posted I wouldn’t be all in a huff. And if someone could summarize that’d be great...maybe whoever found didn’t have the time / didn’t want to spoil? A polite request to summarize (so someone else might do so) would be better than piling on whoever posted without summarizing.

Auro has actually been good at CM but he should be playing RB with Richie at RW and Priso at CM. Im not sure Pozuelo can save this team, Armas will find a way to screw him up and play him in some weird role.
