He's back, and he played the full 90 today! Didn't see this time, but he was solid apparently. A win would've been great, but Regensburg settled for a draw and remain in the relegation battle. Werder Bremen game is next week, and Nachreiner might be back, so we'll see whether he's stolen that starting spot.

It’s funny. Yesterday aside, I still don’t think he’s played his best football with Lille. In spite of that, he’s scoring goals, winning games and drawing interest from some of the best clubs in the world

Guys, it is fun to spell this out. There was a very big game today. Mbappe, Neymar, di Maria, and David all entered the field. Only one of those players left with a goal, and got the 3 points for the win to boot. That's Canada's 2nd best player against Brazil and France's best players, and an important player for Argentina. That's what happened today.

    Keeper depth chart?

I know he is fairly low down but in the event that our top 6 keepers get injured at the same time, I'd imagine Simon Thomas would get a call before a lot of these young Serie D keepers. I get that he's 30 now, but he's still kicking around in the first division of Norway. I also am not so sure that just because a keeper is playing abroad, they deserve to be placed above a CPL starter. My list would go Clear top 3: Borjan Crepeau St. Clair Camp Poutine/or Injury Callups: Leutwiler Carducci Pantemis Hasal Thomas

Yes, and the question was "How long before CPL catches up and surpasses CFL". The CPL is not MLS. The CFL was already dying in those 3 markets (or at least Toronto and Vancouver) and MLS's arrival might have accelerated that. The CPL's primary markets are all located in markets that are much, much stronger for the CFL. Also, I hope that the CFL stays. There's no reason all the leagues can't co-exist, and the demise of the CFL would be incredibly disappointing.

Yes having Canadian players in key positions would be a positive but you can’t really mandate that , all you can do is just allow less imports . In terms of telling individuals teams to play a certain style no no and no . Let each team decide their style of play or each head coach . Yes the CPL is there to develop players but in the end you have to leave styles of play to the individual clubs and coaches .

Borjan (33) - starter, Red Star Belgrade (Serbian Superliga) Crepeau (26) - starter, Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS) St. Clair (23) - starter?, Minnesota United (MLS) Leutwiler (31) - starter, Huddersfield (Championship Hasal (21) backup, Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS) Pantemis (24) - backup?, CF Montreal (MLS) Breza (23) - backup, Bologna (Serie A) DesJardins (21) - starter, Novara (Serie C) Carducci (24) -

Nikola Curcija (2001) plays for Le Havre II and has been on the first team bench (2nd tier) a few times this season. Aldo Commisso (2002) plays for Roccella in Serie D. He has started 15 matches so far, but unfortunately his side has lost most of them.

Trevor Martineau's goal slump continued as he failed to score in his 8th consecutive game (and last game of the season) after scoring in the first 2 games of the season.

Just checked and he has 9 in serie A.. so not even. and wow if David is having a poor season what do we say about Sargent and Weah? Two projected starters for the US.. David has more league goals than the two combined. A record signing leading his team in goals, winning goals and to the top of the league. You can’t spin that as disappointing.

Just gonna toss this out there..... You would be hard pressed to find any Lille fan out there, especially this evening, that says the David transfer was a disappointment. If Lille hold onto the title David's goal will go down in Lille sports history as one of the greatest moments in the club history. On a side note, my wife usually says it's how you finish that matters most, not how you start.

Simon Thomas has been without a club since January. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think he is still without a club. I am not so sure that just because a keeper is playing in the CPL, they deserve to be placed above a keeper playing abroad. Keepers who are playing abroad (and not in the CPL) generally have close to year round training, and more matches than keepers in the CPL. Hopefully that changes in the future with regards to the CPL.

York in 2019 avg attendance was 2,942 and York as pop of around 1.1 million people. This population argument is BS. If a place is hungry for sports, they will support it. Especially a French European market. It’s the same with the North. Yellowknife is a great example, they had like 2000 people show up for a NHL hockey Alumni game. Just imagine a pro team( the only one there ) , with professional players with marketing and nice stadium. I bet the whole city would be there to support.

I completely understand what you are saying nolando about not feeling comfortable, those of us who have been long time MNT supporters have seen things go terribly wrong! I just think in this position however we should be ok, even if we had to start our 3rd or possibly 4th choice keeper, I would be quite comfortable with St. Clair or Leutwiler between the sticks if it came down to it, heck St. Clair could be our #1 in the not too distant future!

I addressed the CanPL angle in the last paragraph that you have chosen to ignore. I'm a soccer fan first so don't have a narrow tribalistic mindset where MLS and CanPL are concerned. Without the level of success that MLS achieved in the three largest markets there would almost certainly not have been a CanPL.

    1) The shut downs didn't start a deflationary cycle. When the shutdowns happened, the debt-based global financial system was already facing a deflationary breaking point. The shutdowns were just the trigger to push the system over the edge. Whether the governments merely reacted to the pandemic by seizing the the opportunity the shutdowns provided to print more money, or they coordinated with each other ahead of time and planned for the shutdowns, knowing they would need an event to justify their re-inflation, well it's hard to say from the outside looking in. Either way, the shutdow

No matter how you want to rank the current keepers I think it's fair to say it is a position that is not worrisome for us, we have decent depth and a mix of experience and up and coming younger players, I would not be in a panic if Borjan was not available!
