There is no doubt that the defending in Ligue 1 is way better than in Belgium, but David has had more chances in the last few games than he had previously. He should have at least 3 goals...including the missed penalty. He is playing well now.. it's just a matter of finishing off his chances...I dont think the league is too high for him.

  13. Richie Ennin has started the last 2 games for Tomsk in the Russian 2nd division. Went 90 today in a 1-0 losses. Tomsk is currently at the bottom of the table, 10 points away from safety. He appears to be playing as a lone striker. Still only 22 years old and has quite the adventure of a career so far.

Seems a little young for him to quit (someone should tell Ciman you dont have to hang on until you pass out on the field). but good to see another potential coach get his start. He was kind of snakebit with injuries (concussions) right when he seemed to be taking off (SJ and TFC). TO this day my fav CB pairing for TFC was Cann and Attakora. He was the first young CDN prospect at TFC I really pulled for. Before Lyndsay, Morgan and henry, before Osorio and Quillan Roberts, Hamilton and Edwards, Fraser, Dunn and Okello and now Rutty/Nelsen/Priso. Hopefully he finds success and a head coach

A COVID positive test in itself is hardly a disaster, for a professional athlete. Of course the key will be to limit opportunities for widespread transmission, and for the most part most teams playing have achieved that. Again if Panama, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua can all organize matches right now, I have no idea why CSA should get a pass. The entire world of football has been able to adjust to the current reality, but only our federation can't?

Big time countries like Lithuania and Albania in the nations League C cause Bulgaria can't compete with Wales, Ireland or Finland in League B. Or loosing 5-0 to the B teams of big European nations in World Cup and Euros qualification while never qualifying for any tournaments.

I think he was talking about the nations league, which was played at a neutral venue. Am I right to assume you are talking about the 1-0 from the previous cycle? I think Edgar got the goal in that one, didn't he? Cool to hear about your experience at that game either way! Edit: It was Occean and the time we played Cuba in Havana was 2012. Wow doesn't seem that long ago.

That was an excellent result actually given the heat and humidity, state of the pitch and having a keeper sent off, I was at that match and am astounded our guys played as well as they did! I am a guy who loves the heat and humidity, that match was played in the centre of Havana, no breeze and extreme mid day heat, these were extreme conditions, it was hot in the stands in the shade drinking cold Cristal, imagine running on the cow pasture field for 90 minutes!

I am assuming we bring a domestic squad for Camp poutine, like we always do. Do you not think that is a safe assumption? I would obviously change my outlook if we brought an A team. The only reason I brought up Barbados was to contrast them with Panama, who are obviously much better. My point was to show that with a camp poutine squad we can blow out the likes of Barbados, but we cannot do that against Panama. They are not Barbados. I was not using Barbados as a benchmark comparison, it was actually the opposite.

And they were able to blood in some new players. Thats the main thing for me in watching all these other Concacaf teams. The coaches have been able strengthen their player pools, by see new guys in games. We are completely fucked if we can’t have all our best players available. Because we’ll be working with a lot of unfamiliarity.

Last camp poutine, with a team of benchwarmers, in a neutral venue, we beat Barbados twice by a score of 4-1. As far as Panama has fallen, I think they'll prove more difficult than Barbados, especially at home. I'd be happy with a 2-1 or a 1-0 against Panama, considering the circumstances.

Rob is one of the most engaging and honest professionals we have come across, and you won't want to miss this! Rob talks about recruiting for the CPL, how he runs his team, and a lot of really interesting info about his time as Canada youth team Coach! 30. Without quoting all the above from @Free kick, first, in USL the Caps almost always dominated, at least at home, including in possession. We took it to our rivals. We have suffered with possession, defending deep, with CBs very deep and lots of shots against, since the Robinson days. MDS came in saying he wanted to change that, but he has not coached it. We have the same basic errors. We sit deep. We do not get out to cover on the wings who are usually 1on1 against us. We do not pressure in a concerted way to ensure getting the ball back in the middle of the field and not always after th

If we recover balls around the field, we’re giving less possession to the opponent in our half, then we’re giving them less goal-scoring opportunities. It’s all things that … we want to continue growing in next season........” Thats what i saw. The whitecaps give up possession far too easily. But i believe that this is longstanding thing that seems rooted back to when the the club came into MLS. And maybe even before that. They are a direct

Yeah, the November/December before that February game included TFC’s MLS CUP run including hosting the final, plus the Grey Cup for CFL. I might be wrong but I believe they have made the surface a hybrid since then didn’t they? Or is it still grass?

If Forge wins that game, or the play in game that follows, the 2020 Canadian Championship will likely be cancelled.

US 6-2 over Panama. I watched a bit of it. Not at all intense as past US/Panama Gold Cup matches I have seen but this was expected. Fairly wide open with only getting chippy late in the second. With 3 passes, Panama scored early on a free header allowed by Ream and Miazga. Then US dominated rest of the half with 3 goals. Reyna got his first US goal on a free kick near the box. Panama keeper made a bit of an error along with probably another in the second half but this was his first cap. US played with a striker this time as Gioacchini scored his first two US goals. But he missed a hat tri

Wow. So USA crushes Panama 6-2 to close out their November window. They'll be feeling good about that. Reyna opens his national team account. Soto scores a brace off the bench. Even Sebastian Lleget, who wasn't even suppose to be there, got a goal to his name in this one. So positive all around for our friends down south. The only negative would be conceding two goals to a Panama striker who plays in the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League. That'll be disappointing for them. If the rumors about Canada playing Panama are true, this kind of result raises the expectations for us, wouldn'

  40. The other thing is they are all young. That USA squad that beat England had a much better mix of younger and older players. When all these young American players are in their prime they can be crazy good, but lacking the veteran presence may be a challenge in the short term. Still, it won’t be long until the older youngsters become the leaders, like Pulisic, Mckennie and Adams.
