Hopefully he can get a look from an MLS club. If not, a CPL club might take a flyer on him.12 points -

He scored 6 goals in preseason this was his first league goal... that being said he has basically done everything but score lol his two posts a cross bar... happy for him. Arsenal away tonight...7 points -
Once again Canada shoots itself in the foot. Will be interesting to see if the USA and others decide not to play in this window. My guess is no. Regardless of whether you support restrictions or are against restrictions, one thing is clear: Not playing hurts the program.6 points

Watching him go against my Porto team. Just scored to make it 2-0. Played a fantastic volley through ball during the set up. Doing it all night. Also helped set up a goal that, even I admit was wrongfully called back. Basically killing Porto right now.. God I wish we sign him lol.6 points

Won 5-1 tonight in the Europa League. Could have been more. A game they probably had to win if they are serious about advancing, even this earlier. Sitting 2nd in the group on goal difference. First of 2 games with Gent who sit bottom, next week.5 points -

Dominant performance. Interceptions everywhere, weirdly accurate strike for a CDM, great passing, and strong on defense. Won MOTM, obviously. No idea why Cruz Azul keeps casting him off. No matter, he should be at a better team soon enough.3 points

Looking for stuff on their game tonight and found this interview from yesterday: 'I was so happy to score my first goal - now I want to get more' Liam Millar is on the hunt for more goals after netting his first of the season in Liverpool U23s' 3-1 win over Chelsea last weekend. The Canada international kept his cool to slot home a penalty at the Academy and get off the mark in Premier League 2 – after he'd scored in style during a friendly victory against Salford City earlier in the month. "It was good for me to get a goal and I was very pleased to get one," Millar3 points -

Worth remembering, he was on a high and in a very busy period with Gent when his mother died. He could just throw himself back into what he did best. He then had too long with COVID and his transfer to just sit think about that. Amateur head-shrinking I know but as much as professional sports people get paid, professional sport is often ruthless, brutish and short (to paraphrase Hobbes). Just feel bad for him and hope there is a blowout sometime soon when he can net a few.3 points -

If this can launch him from UBC to a pro career elsewhere, this league is getting something done. One of my favourite players fwiw.3 points -
I don’t agree.I don’t think it’s Jonny fault he gets Zero service... It wasn’t the best penalty it he was the one that earned it and it takes I lot to step up and take the pen when you confidence is low. I’m shocked at how poor Lille’s defence is and ffs why won’t the mids play the ball info Jonny feet or in behind. They look right at him and lose the ball. The m shocked at how bad they are playing Celtic haven’t won in 3 games. Lille overplay the ball... and teams will figure them out soon.. jonny is a great player and an even better kid. Liam calls him the ice man he will work3 points

Can't blame him when Canada doesn't do youth camps. I expect when the U20 tournament happens in 2021 he'll suit up for that. However this move could potentially have the CSA move to call him up for our November camp.2 points

That's sort of my point. Burak has been doing it better, but not well, either. I think Lille have a bit of an identity crisis. They want to be a sort of defensively solid, two banks of four and quick strike team, but they are better than pretty much everyone else in France and have to break teams down. The wingers cut inside, naturally, to combine but everyone defers to the full backs too much. David (or any other Lille attacker) isn't really a physical presence in the box so this is problematic. From memory, it does seem like the full backs do hit low crosses (Celik moreso than Bradaric), but2 points -
Two thoughts. Missing that penalty, and it was a miss, absolutely brutal, but that was probably just the universe injecting some justice into the play. Or David was feeling guilty about the whole thing and subconsciously tanked it. Don't know. Same result. U-G-L-Y. In all caps. And for those who haven't been paying as much attention as I do, EVERYBODY is scoring against Celtic these days. Least it feels that way. So...YEEESH. Also in all caps. I'm not sweating anything yet and neither should he. The man is an investment and Lille is winning but it might be worth trying a2 points

I recall being disappointed with David's lack of involvement in the USA games last year. He was a non factor in those games. He really doesn't see much of the ball with Lille. You dont see him running at the defence with the ball or making any nice passes. The only time he seems to get the ball its to pull the trigger, and its not going in. Anyway, its not easy being a record signing for the first place club in a top 5 league, at striker no less. He needs our collective support.2 points -

Laryea, ZBG, Cordova and Johnston are all ahead of Godinho. Possibly even Chung and Bassong depending on where he ends up. Likely leaving a few names out but RB has some solid depth even if it isn't world class.2 points -
I get what you are saying man. Interestingly, Venezuela is another country with Caribbean elements, and to a lesser degree Colombia. Take Salsa for instance. It's origins are in the Latin Caribbean: Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican, etc. They are also big in those two South American countries. Same goes for the popularity of Baseball. The gateway for such cultural links is the Caribbean sea itself, which makes up 99% of the Venezuela coastline. So yes, Colombia and especially Venezuela are culturally part of the Caribbean and this was made clear to me from the Venezuelans I have known ov2 points

Sort of agree with many of your points. But i am not sure about the talent part. Nashville is not more talented than the Impact. Maybe i am wrong, but when i look at the Impact squad in relation to other MLS teams. They look better than maybe half the teams in the league.2 points

Man of the match, easily. To follow his one touch pass near midfield to spring the player on the opposite wing with a lung bursting sprint to the box to slot it into the corner is up there in top Canadian plays of the year, probably only behind Davies' assist against Barcelona.1 point

Air connections between Guyana / Suriname and South America are minimal or non-existent. A few years ago the Venezuelan state airline Conviasa flew from Caracas to Georgetown .... I suppose that is another compelling reason for the Guianas to play in Concacaf: they are more connected with Port of Spain and Miami than with other points in South America. I believe that if Suriname and Guyana were to raise their football level, it would not be unreasonable for them to be part of Conmebol in the future. Regarding the cultural aspect, I was born in Caracas and we always regard Guyana as t1 point

Lille spent way too much money on him to give up already. As long as they keep getting results he’ll still get chances (might be off the bench at this point though1 point

The irony is what Lille is lacking the most in their squad is a playmaker....David didn't just score at Gent..he racked up a ton of assists. If his confidence is low why not play him behind Yilmaz? Get him involved in the build up where he can deploy his other skills and get his confidence up. We know he has a great engine.1 point

These injuries didn't happen in a vacuum. This is what happens when you ride the same 10 or 11 horses in a very compressed schedule. Anyone could've seen this coming. That's why other teams are rotating players in and out. In a regular season yes, but not in this shortened compressed season. You can't play the same players night after night. Its actually the periphery players that will carry a team in a situation like this.1 point

Mahith Gamage was at the event and has provided some more in-depth coverage: https://northernstartingeleven.com/everything-need-fc-manitoba-winnipeg-developmental-pathway/ Basically, much like how Highlanders sold their USL2 rights to TFA Wilamette, WSA Winnipeg has sold their USL2 rights to FC Manitoba. WSA Winnipeg will continue to exist/compete, but only with the WSA North Stars (WPSL) and their MMSL teams. They're stepping down and wanted to see something at that level still exist, so FC Manitoba (who run Ital Inter SC in MMSL) is stepping up to the plate. It sounds lik1 point
