This is just pathetic. If you can’t take mild criticism of your posts perhaps you should take a time out.

  2. Watched the first half and was focusing on Eustaquio. He's such an efficient player. Very comfortable on the ball and great distributor. In the starting lineup, he'st t listed as the right mid but he basically plays the Michael Bradley role when the other team is attacking, sitting in front of the back four. Since I bought up Bradley, Eustaquio's passing is night and day better than MB and his defensive positioning is also better. When his team regains position, he'll sometimes drift back between tihe CB's to receive the ball and start the attack out from the back. He doesn't look p

I was posting in the Canadians Abroad thread after watching the Pacos 1-0 loss but Eustaquio is a lock for a starting mid position and you fill in the others around him. He's such a smart, efficient player. Always makes the right pass and always puts himself in a good spot both defensively and offensively.

Actually think he's one of the bigger talents in CPL. I'm happy to see him move to Koge or similar and play a series of games.

A kid who was playing youth for another country and by all measure was on track for a senior call up for that country has just committed to Canada and you’re shitting on the CSA because it didn’t happen earlier. SMH.

I know. The faceless interaction on the internet just brings out the worse behavior. You try pulling this stuff in a bar or at some place with other people and you'll get kicked out or never be invited back for anything.

I don't mind him being asked to play higher up, as he'll learn that way, he'll be stretched. As for fitness, perhaps they figure he should carry more bulk to be up top, not sure, but it would be odd, those theories are old-fashioned. Get him to drop 2 kilos and put him on a fitness regime--or haven't they already? Even though I agree he should be behind another striker, it is early enough for the coach to be trying out some different things. The whole team, as @Snowcrash has shown in his excellent post, is built from the back up, as if what is going on at striker position is the leas

He is very left footed though and should have never played that pass into the centre of the pitch. That goal was on him. He seems to have bouts of poor concentration causing some sort of error like tonight, or doesn't track a runner, get's flat footed. If he could sort out the mental side, he's be top CB/LB in MLS.

  23. This is my chart Borjan starts for WCQ / Our #2 Crepeau starts Gold Cup / I put St. Clair as starter for Olympics. Splitting them makes sense to see their ability to carry the team WCQ: Guys that are playing lots of minutes at high level with International experienced who knows Herdman's system Gold Cup: Guys that could make the A team will want to use the Gold Cup to make their case. Also a great opportunity to acquire national team experience Olympics: Incomplete - Open to suggestions - Any U24 guys you think are part of the future not making our A or B team

  24. I signed such a big contract and my skills have diminished so badly, my wife would never find someone to unload my contract on. At this point I am untradeable and unplayable. Hats off to Ongaro though, I also hope that the next time I see him in Winnipeg its wearing a red maple leaf.... and not black/blue.

  25. Doneil didn’t react kindly to this question during one of his interviews. While many in here would disagree with Henry (probably not face to face😜), let’s hope the perceived weakness really pushes a few of our CB’s to greater success as the spots are truly open. With the current state of Concacaf and ours, we are really only a solidified back line away from m being firmly in the mix for #3 in the region and competing in every national men’s competition.

  30. Regardless of James playing time in Denmark herdman is going to have to give him a regular opportunity in the 11. I’d rather have a Cb with a ucl club playing Sporadically then a Cb from the cpl or usl getting 90 m a game I suspect that they will go 3-5-2 and 5-3-2 regardless

  31. Dest is by no means a “sure thing” - world class potential, but many deficiencies in his game at this time (according to interviews with a Dutch reporter I’ve heard on ESPN podcasts - perhaps ‘coachability’ / team-play may be an issue?). He wasn’t even first choice RB in the second half of last season at Ajax.

  35. I thought the same about DIdic several years ago when he was a finalist for USL defender of the year and was in the 18 for SKC but never got into a game. Sure would be nice if a few more guys jumped a level and guys like James and Miller got more minutes where they are.

  39. Lille is absolutely set at the back with veteran CB Fonte and newcomer Dutch CB Botman who'll likely be sold for maybe $35M euros in a few years. They also have a top quality keeper in Maignan. The fullbacks are solid so the backline is the least of their problems. Sanches might be able to grow into a more creative role but right now, his strength is still as a box-to-box mid and other mids like Xeca, Andre and Soumare are more holding types. Ikone and Bamba are pretty well wingers but to their credit, they track back really well defensively. Galtier is one of the best Ligue 1 m

For anyone curious, the name in the black box is his. Backwards N's make "i" sounds, H's make "n" sounds, B's make "v" sounds. I didn't know about the first characters in either name, but just looked up his first character in his first name, and apparently it decends from the greek letter "delta", just like the letter D, and backwards R's do make a "Ya" sound. That ends this lesson in the Cyrillic alphabet, taught by someone that only speaks English

  44. Exactly! Without Laryea, Pozuelo wouldn't have had the ball to pass to Jozy, or to shoot, or to... wait, the 3rd was ALL Richie. I knew that he had some moves, but what Laryea did to the Crew (and to NYCFC the game before, when he ran through three players to the middle of the box just inside the 18 before passing off) have shown some world class control, combined with speed. He also tends not to miss either. When he shoots, the keeper better save it, 'cause it's not going wide.

  45. I think one of the most interesting things is that I have yet to see a predictable dribble from Laryea. Whenever he's in a one on one situation, you don't know how he's going to get by the defender but he seems to do it every time. And he makes the defenders look foolish by doing so.
    1 point
  46. I am big on Laryea and hope he outgrows MLS, but I think it is too early to think he is already too good for the league. Sustaining this kind of impact consistently is the next challenge. Right now he is a lock for a starting role in one of the best teams in MLS right now. There are far worse places to be.
