  1. Mate, have you heard of OneSoccer yet? It’s the digital platform, accessible from any device with wifi, that is broadcasting all Canada, and Concacaf LN matches, and every single match from that league we just launched called the CPL...encourage all who are complaining about the game not on TSN to support a business that is investing in our football. game day!!! 5. After attending 2 Valour games (and deciding to get season tickets next year) coupled with the Mens/Womens games...I signed up for a yearly Onesoccer subscription. Looking forward to the game tonight. I haven't heard much - I hope the quality is decent. I plan to chromecast it to my TV. Any idea if they have or will be getting an app for XBOXone?

  9. Geepers!! He never once acknowledged that more games would probably help the program, irregardless of points. You skip camps, play as few games as possible for 2 years but now that you realize you need fifa points you try and get games. As if they didnt serve any purpose before. I want to be positive but everytime he opens his mouth it drives me crazy.

  11. This Cuba team is no longer the semi competitive Cuba we saw in 2012. Their form has dropped bigtime. These 2 games will be nothing more than an exercise in running up the score as much as possible. Our group will most likely be determined by goal differential. We must show them No Mercy. I want to see us put 10 past Cuba tonite!
    2 points
  12. I know what you're saying, you want it to be a competitive test but we have no control of this, the Cubans will not give up and they will be athletic! This is a chance for Mr. Herdman once again to try to see who plays well where and which formation works, obviously the dynamics will be different vs the US, I'm looking forward to seeing all of our young talent live even if it's in a match we should very well dominate!

  13. I'm just excited to see the boys play. It'd be nice to learn from the Haiti loss and come away with some massive victories against Cuba going into the US game. Hoping we break our record

OK, this is stressing me out. I just checked again this morning. No live games happening, but all of the pre-recorded games are still showing the filler programming that is on the live channel instead of the game I'm asking for. I'm going to a birthday party tonight and probably won't be back by 8. I don't want to miss the first 30 or 45 minutes of the Canada game, so it looks like instead of watching the game delayed by a bit, or the next day, I'll probably have to wait a couple days and watch it on like Monday night or something. I guess I'll have to avoid this website, mlssoccer.com, canpl.

  15. Sure people are going to complain, but when you are a national team coach and you have months between camps you are going to have to deal with the media. He has been around doing interviews and popping up at TSN in the booth for little chats etc to try and keep the interest in the team up. Thats part of the job and I would have thought he would have thicker skin and would know to ignore message boards if he didnt want to get depressed. Thats why I have to take a week or two hiatus now and again.

Footytalks video.... GRRRRR........herdman complains about the circumstances when he took over/putting him onto the back foot, but doesnt acknowledge why everyone was legitamitly skeptical. It seems like his feelings were hurt when he got blowback on the way he took over. He says that they were untested, but did not get any games to test them before the gold cup.....grrrrrrr. Well the proof will be in the pudding, and I dont mean the cuba games. If we use them to prep correctly and go on to do well against the states, it will go a long way to shutting up us doubters (me included). .

B.No way the city remotely entertains giving you that kind of piece of prime land without making it worth their while by adding so much extra expenses in infrastructure perks. C. Even then, you have no track records, no history of sellout attendances. D. No guarantees that you will be viable, let alone still in business in 5 years...and then what? You declare bankruptcy and the city is stuck with a useless stadium costing them more to maintain? That's not how it works. Those teams are p

That was a good little session, thanks for posting that @red card Herdman really opens up and admits some errors, he mentions about turning down the England job, to me it was an attempt to get people on board with him, he knows there are many detractors especially after the Haiti fiasco! The only thing that is going to win fans over is getting the required results against the US, if we fall short the pressure on him will really ramp up as it should!

  26. I think the team will be heavily focused on CPL players with a generous sprinkling of MLS reserve players. Our CPL U23 players are getting first team minutes week in and week out. They’re developing rapidly right before our eyes in the best way. What would our best CPL based team look like?

  27. I feel a bad from a sporting perspective that Cuba has had so many defections. Their player base can’t be so broad as to lose this many players and our last game against them wasn’t very competitive. I certainly want to win but don’t really enjoy the 7-0, 8-0, 10-0 thrashings against a minnow team that’s completely depleted.

  28. He does make great runs, I saw another in the highlights. I think it is about making the whole system work sometimes. Just don't think he can do enough in the 4-3-3 they want to do or the 4-2-3-1 our manager wanted. He needs another real striker with him, especially as he is slowing down a bit, which leaves your midfield open to decent teams. Generally spent a disappointing 2 years with my club side, and even at the World Cup, Mexico were probably my second side there. Biases cast off (as much as possible) Jimenez scares me more for club and country. All about opinions, right?

  29. Not sure Chicharito is "A" team as much anymore. He got the start today/yesterday and scored but think Jimenez (who started against us) would be there regularly. He certainly was getting more regular football and goals before the Gold Cup and after. But we will see how Hernandez does at Sevilla.

If he does, honestly he should just stay off this 99% of the time. As much as I appreciate the honesty in his answers and that he addressed some stuff bothering people, ok great. Me personally, I believe focusing on the next task at hand is far more important, but that's just my opinion. People are gonna complain no matter what, and it's cool, and I get it, but I mean France lost to Turkey this summer and some hardcore french supporters on forums were saying it's time for Didier Deschamps to hand over the reigns. Hopefully the negative stuff on here, players, staff, fans etc. don't

  37. I actually appreciate the honesty from him. The haters will hate and jump on anything he says where he admits mistakes as demonstrating he is incompetent or dissecting his acknowledgements for omissions of what they think were his mistakes and jumped on him for that. If he didn’t admit his mistakes, they would jump on him for being arrogant. It seems the players like him and think he is a great motivator and has brought something to the table. He seems willing to learn which in my experience over the years is the most important thing in being a good boss in any organisation.

  39. Not caring is not being a professional either. I prefer a screamer, which in the end is just a character trait, to someone coasting through being ravaged. Bitching about someone shouting at their teammates is a reflection one of those stupid unwritten norms that is not written for a reason. Borjan, who folks criticised after that Haiti goal, is almost always like that in the nets for Red Star, he screams and gesticulates. He also has the attention of his back line. At least Mitter, along with the keeper, seemed to authentically care they were being destroyed and humiliated before the

It's the worst midfield in MLS. The worst midfield in Whitecaps history. One of the worst I have ever seen at a professional team. They couldn't find 10 minutes for Norman?

  43. Do not get me started.. if the MLS had its way they would treat FIFA the way the NBA treats fiba and the way NHL treats IIHF. It comes down to not wanting to share a piece of the pie and these tournaments also allow for some reality to creep in to the over hyped superstars that the NBA marketing creates. LeBron James and Steph Curry loosing to a bunch of dudes grom Serbia slew foots billions of dollars in marketing

Never!!! Until he's capped by England. Until then I will continue to hope he is a fringe Premier Leauge player which makes him good enough for Canada but not good enough for England. After we cap him he can go on to win the UEFA player of the year of course.

I assume they are flying only. There are tons of flights between Victoria and Vancouver. Where they can connect to all the other major cities in Canada. Plus there are direct flights from Victoria to some bigger cities (just not as often). I was once on a Toronto to Victoria flight that had national Rugby players on board. The comment about the Ferry was more about travelling fans.

  46. Not to mention a guy like Jonas Valenciunas who has suited up for his country 13 summers in a row. There are quite a few committed South American or European NBA players. I think the problem is more with North American NBA players vs NBA players in general.
