  3. Just made a great turn on a defender up the wing then moved the ball to the centre right on the mark for a Gent player who rocked the shot off the post. Really great play. Should've been an assist Just assisted on Gent's goal at the start of the second half. 1-0 And he scores with another slick finish! 2-0

It also is unproductive to have our men play in front of nearly empty stands so often, as they often regularly do in Gold Cups and of course with the closed door friendlies. It's exactly the likes of Havana away in a competitive match that I want our next generation to experience on a regular basis

Great post, beautifully said by MDS, thanks for sharing. Experience, perseverance and attitude like that is what usually separates those that make it. Wishing the kid the best, put your head down, work hard and remember no journey is easy.

  6. It's cool that we are actually having these discussions. You can make opinionated valid arguments for 7-10 different guys with a shot to make the roster, that will be left off. Feels like yesterday, we were trying to make a 23 man roster without "Unattached FC" on it.

  7. Pretty crazy day in the battle for the last playoff spot in the east. With the Montreal, Toronto, and Orlando games all having a stoppage time goal to result in a draw. In terms of Canadians, Orlando started more (2-1) and gave more minutes (195-183) to Canadians than Montreal and Toronto combined. On the extreme other end of the spectrum today's match between York and Pacific 28 of 34 players dressed were Canadian.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere else, but it's time to bump this thread. Has started multiple times for the Whitecaps and scored a wonder goal last week for his first in MLS. Showed well again today vs DC United playing as a right forward / mid.

  16. I know I keep beating this drum, but John Herdman has played exactly ONE away game in CONCACAF that wasn't in the USA. That was the Nations League qualifier at St. Kitts. Granted the Cayman Islands is technically away, but is more of a neutral site game so I don't count it. And this includes his entire tenure as WNT coach. His first away game outside of USA will be a World Cup Qualifier... unless we get an away friendly somewhere.

That WCQ match we went to in 2012 was in extreme conditions, the middle of the day in the centre of the city, no breeze and high humidity! It was so hot even for us supporters in the shaded stands, when posters were critical of our team with 10 men getting the result we needed I stated, you had to be there to understand what a good result that was, as you say, it would serve our youngsters well to be exposed to those conditions!

Moved out to the wing last couple games and it real suits him. I think we have another special player here in Vancouver. Seeing him lineup for corners, his size is absolutely shocking

  21. Bair has been great since he's moved to the wing. I guess just because your 6'4 doesn't necessarily mean CF is your best attacking position Also, if there is a better young defender in the MLS than Derek Cornelius, I would like to know who it is

  22. I would say even better news is that the kid that was starting ahead of him is on the bench. So not forced.

  23. Henry subbed in in the 50th minute. Safe to assume he should be healthy for cuba if Herdman chooses to select him.

  24. I think Shome and Akindele are the 2 most deserving players of a call up. James also should be called up and we need him back in case Henry is injured. From the CPL I think Borges, Zator and Carducci are the 3 best players and most ready for a call up.

Played really well came on in the 60 mins and changed the game was a real threat. should have score in the 70th minute but put it just over the bar. Came close again late into stoppage time and then whipped in a wicked low crossed turned in for the winner... Aberdeen next week...

  28. As much as I want him to get full 90 mins, I still think his game has improved immensely at Bayern, I'm okay with him staying there longer for a bit and training with the 1st team and making the 18 every week. Also if he stays at Bayern, I think he will be used more as a winger. From a Davies at LB perspective at Bayern , he is definitely #3 on the LB depth chart now. Alaba is arguably one of the best in the world and Lucas Hernandez started at LB for France during the World Cup, Alaba started friday and Hernandez was on the 18 man roster.

  29. Looking at Pacific home attendance, and comparing with what the baseball team playing at Royal Athletic Park in central Victoria get out: always a smaller crowd. For a key playoff game they got just over 2000 a few days ago. So even arguing that the facility is set up for baseball, soccer would probably double that if Pacific were there. In this sense, we have to assess Pacific attendance positively, as it outdraws the other sports draw in the summer (albeit essentially high level amateur), even being in a far inferior location.

Although now that I have 3 kids and when you factor in 25k+ USD per kid for private schools, housing, garbage disposal, water, etc etc etc it only makes sense for the beach life... but I mean I could tell my wife paragraph #1 pre trip and post trip inform her of paragraph #2 😎.

I really don't find it necessary or sensible for him to come and train. We want to start off this new relationship on the right foot with player and club. There's no club with a player coming off the kind of injury he suffered that wants to see their contracted player anywhere near a national team camp. Now if he's just dying to come and meet the lads, sit in the hot tub, and get a sense of the squad and strategy...then so be it.

For sure. That's exactly why I don't see Layera AND Cordova getting called at the same time. I mean, I would love for that to happen, but if you add two right backs, you are gonna have to drop two right backs, right? And if you are thinking Cordova can play on the left, then we have too many left backs, assuming Adekugbe gets recalled, because even if you drop Morgan, you have Davies and Miller both able to play there (ignoring Kaye - we all hope that experiment has ended). I'll make it easier: We won't see Adekudge, Layrea and Cordova next month. 1 or maybe 2, but not 3. Again, I mu

  46. First off, I'd say I'm more than impressed with the CPL overall so far. The quality of play, the viewing/streaming capability (and quality), the team branding, and the attendance (with some exceptions - I'm looking at you, Y9, PFC and FC Ed) have all been spot on. No league is going to be perfect in year one, but I think the CPL has done a fantastic job of building the base for the future. One thing I will note that I'm disappointed with is the CPL shop. -The only things I can purchase online through the league-wide shop are kits, and even then some are out of stock. I ordered my Wand

  47. They are not going to loan out a player they need. Loans are for players like Larin who are surplus to requirements. Davies is required, though unfortunately he is not a starter yet, but he is 18 so I can live with that. All it takes is an injury to hit Alaba or Coman and his minutes will go up drastically.

yes it’s official. Like I said we thought very long and hard. A good decision best fit for him. He will be looking to start every game... Guarantees in place for playing time but it’s up to him now. He needs to go smash it. Get a good 30-40 games under his belt will be great for him! Very happy for him!!! https://kilmarnockfc.co.uk/news/liam-millar-returns-on-season-long-loan-deal/
