  3. Someone should just pose as a representative of the CSA and invite them here for a friendly using faked letterhead. CSA will find out when Venezuela reply and accept the offer. To avoid embarrassment, the CSA will then just pretend that it was their idea and run with it. And don't worry @admin, I am like 72% joking.

    TFC 2019 Season

Akinola is called to the US U20 team who play 3 games from May 24th to May 31st, and possibly more into June if they get out of their group. I assume that Akinola will be gone after the game on the 18th against RSL, so if Altidore is not back by then, that leaves us with Hamilton and Boyd as the only two healthy strikers, one of whom has had non-existent production so far. So I am thinking that the two possible homegrown signings could be Shaffelburg (since they need wingers) and Jayden Nelson as they will need someone else who can play up top. If KC can give first team minutes to Busio,

It was in regards to the supporters section and sounded slightly condescending. I thought it was an interesting perspective and one others probably have as well. I am sure many casuals assume the team comes first and the supports group develop organically afterwards. They don't seem to realize, much less appreciate, how these supporters groups form and build community ahead of the team launch in order to

  7. This team is incredibly frustrating to watch. Not necessarily because of the mistakes cause I can deal with that due to the age group (however, I could do without all the attempted backheels) but because of the lack of organization or tactics. Apparently the idea is to knock it around the back four until you get it to the outside back who will then hoof it up the line for Nelson to chase. When you have a guy like Habibullah who can dribble in a phone booth and has some pretty spectacular vision, why are we not trying to play it into him once in awhile and work through the middle? There is

I've been actively following betting markets for the CPL since its inauguration and FINALLY I have found odds on BET365 for the game featuring Cavalry FC and Valour FC. I'm actually surprised that it's available this early given the league and teams' non-exsistent history (which makes creating odds hard). Here is the first line (Valour heavy underdogs).

If you already have a cable box, you probably don't even need to buy an HDMI cable, just unplug the cable that connects your TV to the cable box from the box end and find the port that fits on your laptop. Whatever shows up on your laptop should also appear on your TV.

  16. You are totally off base, the cost is negligible, and the need to grow the product requires this basic step. Their vision is lacking, the effort is LAZY. This is of course the CPL's fault for not insisting, and it is plain stupid to boot: One Soccer being MediaPro, and MediaPro banking the league, I can say this: everything they do in Spain gets said in Spanish and Catalan, of course. And Catalan as a % of the Spanish market is less than French in Canada. Meaning if CPL says, Mediapro, in this regard, for sure, 100%, does.

  20. I don't think the scoreline was an accurate reflection of the match. Pacific had their moments. Forge converted their chances. The stats confirm that. xG was only 1.5 - 1.0 in favour of Forge. Pacific out shot them 12-8. I hope Pacific can remain competitive with their youthful lineup. If results do not go their way, it may discourage other teams from taking a similar approach. Lastly...away teams having only 5 guys on the bench is really starting to piss me off!!! If 1 of the players gets injured in training (Haber) and 1 is your backup keeper, you only have 3 players for your 3 sub

  22. In the 2nd half with Curacao going for the equalizer the game got stretched and Canada got space. Jayden Nelsen is on a different level and was involved in 3 of the 4 goals. He could have scored another hat trick. MOTM performance. Our big 3 came through. We don't seem to have a sub for Rowe at striker?. When Omeonga came on he made a huge difference on the right side, but we need to start the QF with either Rowe or Omeonga upfront. Don't want to be negative after a 4-0 performance but it is clear that some players are much weaker than others on this squad but we have enough quality for a star

These guys are playing chess not checkers. Synergy, interconnected companies all growing together. If cavalry can help Spruce meadows make more money they'll be happy. Talk of folding is very short sighted.

NOPE. As someone involved heavily in the recent mayoralty campaign, handling aspects of communications so closer than you would normally get, I can assure you that they are not at all the same market. That someone in Victoria might get a Vancouver channel of news, or even vice versa, is irrelevant. We even tried to work the Vancouver market, which ignores Victoria, to get a bit of traffic and interest from that end coming back, since many ex-Victorians are in Vancouver, but it was unfruitful. In Vancouver the only regular Victoria news is BC politics; if Pacific gets any Vancouver p

Hamilton and the Niagara peninsula have CHCH for their local TV news, Hamilton has its own set of radio stations (including sports radio) and the Spectator as its newspaper, so Hamilton is not part of the Toronto media market to anything like the same extent that York region is and can best be viewed as semi-detached from it. Judging by what Mediapro people have been stating in interviews the deal is about where they hope soccer will be in Canada when the 2026 World Cup rolls around (which is why the CMNT component is important) through to ten years from now more than where it is now. 33. What do people think about/what can they tell me about Joel Waterman? I thought he was fantastic in the opener and really good in the second match. My favourite centre back in the league so far. Has had an unheralded path: went to TWU and was a 2nd round pick, played a little but for TSS, Kitsap, and Foothills Jrs. Never heard his name before but had to wonder why after seeing him. I saw he was listed as a defender and midfielder. I could see him playing holding mid, but I also really like him as a centre back where his distribution becomes a plus-plus skill.

    Coaches Speculation

I was thinking about this too. I would set the over-under on a coach being fired at 1.5 seasons. I don't see anybody being dismissed this year no matter how poor the results, for all of the reasons you mentioned. Plus, things seems to be pretty even for the most part.

  40. On one hand I get putting the Supporters sections in one corner where they dont upset the sit on hands brigade... ..However, that is the culture and image the league has vocally embraced and promoted. Why isnt it front and center for the cameras. Not least when it's the one section you are guaranteed to have filled. If you want that culture, passion and atmosphere to spread make it the focal point.

  43. I think the leagues business model seems relatively solid so far, and the losses (at least for some teams), may not be so bad. I was fortunate enough to be able to study the consolidation of professional sports in North America and look at the CFL in particular, but the one thing that typically came up in terms of sustainability, was attendance to player salary. Obviously there are so many variables in terms of expenses and revenue sources, but typically (and to simplify it massively) if you can look at profit from home attendance and compare it to the salary costs you can determine the

In an ideal world, there are several cities in other provinces that would get it together re: ownership and stadium enough to join, and the other big Ontario cities would fill in after. In the real world, I think we need to take whoever is ready to go. If say Niagara or London have owners begging to write cheques and build stadiums, it would be crazy to turn them down.

There are 10,4 million of French speakers in Canada. Chinese isn't a language by the way. There's 565,270 Cantonese speakers and 592,040 mandarin speakers. There are almost as many Spanish, Punjabi or Arabic speakers. Regardless of these numbers, those languages are not part of a historical nation within Canada that uses that language in all aspects of life (business schooling, public affairs, etc). English is one, French is another, and aboriginal languages are others that we too often forget about. I'm not shocked that you tried to undermine French however. Its been on an upward trend for th
