Arfield will come to Vancouver, pay Robert $1200 for his ticket to watch the game, then head back to England.

I'll feel better when they roll him out in style like they did Hoilett. Big announcement, fresh new kit, scarf, and and a thick scottish accent telling us how he loves canada and then cerimoniously spits on a picture of Hargreaves. Come on you paper pushers, dont let us down, shuffle and stamp that damn paperwork!!

The downside of only occasionally dropping in to this site is that I miss following threads like these on a daily basis so I can agonize for extended periods about possibilities, hopes, dreams, and soul-crushing disappointments. I only just now learned about this guy, meaning that I wasted the last 2 weeks not agonizing over this - and that's bullshit. As a Canadian footy fan, it is my god given right - no, my duty - to worry about nationalizing uncapped players. As an aside, I really hope we put this one in the net. That would be totally amazeballs.

Looking at this article http://www.wakingthered.com/2016/2/6/10927022/scott-arfield-tells-reporter-he-expects-to-represent-canada-in-march-world-cup-qualifiers from February 6, it states two pieces of paperwork have already been filed, the passport and the one time switch paperwork that went through Scotland's fa. I checked how long it takes for a passport to be processed that was filed internationally, it's 20 business days. It's been 26 business days since that article was written, and who knows how far before that it was actually filed. I feel good.

  5. Now Arfield is following Victor Montagliani on twitter! So either Arfield is more than 100% kook-aid level committed... ...or he hates @Robert.

You have missed the "will there be 5000 or 35000 mexican fans at BC place" thread and all of us dancing around on 1 leg waiting for the roster. Personally I can only focus worrying about a few of these things at a time, because my stupid family takes up alot of my spare time.

Young keeper, born in 97, has been the starter for IFK Norrköping in their pre-season so far. Born and raised in Toronto and came up in the youth scene here before joining West Bromwich Albion for a little while. Has repped Estonia at youth levels and hasn't repped Canada at any level. Does the CSA know about him? We need regularly playing keepers badly, and Estonia will probably move to cap him soon if he's a starter in the Swedish top flight.

    Doneil Henry

Doneil scored the tying goal today in U21 Premier League cup semi-final vs Liverpool. West Ham went on to win 3-2 in extra time.

Not to mention the suspense of the "will someone or won't someone pay $1200 for a ticket" thread. Spoiler alert, they wont.

Funny but when YP Lee was retiring I was suggesting Russ for RB. Our OCD with the 4-5-1 really limits us and Techera on the right mid doesn't supply much defensively. Parker at RB and a 4-4-2 would be worth trying but I doubt we will see anything but the 4-5-1

  13. Brilliant. The only thing I'd change is SPK 3 HAM 1, but I feel you might disagree.

  15. I dunno @DigzTFC, I think less may have been more, as much as I like the citadel concept. Feels a bit cluttered to me. Thoughts? what about keeping the small citadel star, and putting it behind the crossed cannons on the back collar? It's not that I hate this one, but personally I think it's a slight downgrade. up to you edit: lightened up the grey to more of a silver. much better. still a toss up for me between this and the small star one. but I think that helped quite a bit. Can I pat myself on the back yet guys?

  17. looks a little more like a bull than a bison, but not bad. I was hoping for a more solemn looking bison to go with the whole wanderer thing.

He re-tweeted a Canucks Aboard status in October so he's aware that Canada exists. Is it worth pushing someone in soccer media for an interview to see if Canada's reached out.

  21. I was curious, so I looked it up. Here are each of the forwards who won rookie of the year, with their rookie goal total and sophomore goal total: 2001 Faria 8 goals -> 12 goals 2003 Ralph 11 goals -> 11 goals 2004 Dempsey 7 goals -> 10 goals 2011 Sapong 5 goals -> 9 goals 2014 Akindele 7 goals -> 5 goals Not too many true sophomore slumps. Also demonstrates how far ahead Larin was above most rookie of the year winners

  22. It is what it is. I understand the desire to advertise what it's for and all, but to me the whole maple leaf + soccer ball just seems like pandering. Add in a soccer pitch, and I dunno. I just would prefer to have sort of unique identities that resonate with supporters as opposed to something supposed to make the average non-soccer fan citizen aware that your city does indeed have a soccer team. But A) perhaps this identity does resonate with supporters, and B ) thats just, like, my opinion. As someone who does this alot you get tired of hearing "but where's the soccer ball!?!?" Sure. Some great logos contains soccer balls, but many of the best don't. The people who matter know what it stands for. Anyways, mini-rant over. Edit: the one thing it has going for it is the crest shape. It reminds me of a firemans badge, and it's spot on.
