  1. Having read this through a couple clarifications/thoughts. - The figure of $1.5m has been suggested to me from start, but I've had conflicting suggestions on whether that's a salary budget, or TOTAL budget (including coaches, administration, etc). Goal is to be about NASL level as quickly as possible and salaries will reflect that (I was told NASL salaries are about $1m-$1.5m per team, with Cosmos much higher). Personally, I think it will launch at an upper USL level, which is fine. -They may agree to launch at lower than 75% domestic, but they will work towards that. Realistically t

  2. From an interview today in a local Ponferrada region paper, it seems Floro did not set this up. Hume says Benito was pleasantly surprised when he told him. Hume also says that by signing for the team he feels he has a chance to get back into the national team fold for qualifiers, it is a specific goal of his. The article in Spanish here, title is "I've Come to Score Goals": http://www.elbierzonoticias.com/frontend/bierzo/Hume--He-Venido-Aqui-A-Marcar-Goles-vn33135-vst1475 Hume also says he is v happy to sign in Spain, is going to try to learn Spanish and integrate quickly, kno

  3. I'm happy that Hume managed to sign with Ponferradina. Their season ends June 5th. He will be off from then until likely mid-September for ISL preseason I would think. Since he has 2 kids I'd find it unlikely that he would look for something during the summer. He deserves some family time. However, it seems like if he hasn't played in almost 3 months he will have ruled himself out of WCQs in September. The man scored in San Pedro Sula and we might need him to do it again!

  6. Any updates on Hassoun Camara? My two cents - of all possible future nationalized player, he would bring the most immediate value. I understand he plays typically plays on the left, but could he provide cover on the right? Would give Aird sometime to develop into a CMNT starter.

    Impact offseason 2015-16

I'd like to know if possible to get in contact with the creative department of the Impact. I think a good third jersey would be a copy of the Inter Milan Red Cross shirt but just add transparent Montreal symbols in each corner: fleur de lys, English rose, Irish shamrock, Scottish thistle. It would make for a cool Montreal identity - the province can have its shirt back the next season. And/Or possibly copy AC Milans recent crest yet with the Montreal coat of arms.

    Ranking our Goalkeepers

    1. Borjan 2. Stamatopoulos 3. Chencinski 4. Crepeau 5. Thomas 6. Hirschfield 7. Roberts 8. Fargago Beyond this I think it's a toss up for the next 5-6 spots. If Leutweiler and Bush were in our player pool they would be 4 and 3 respectively, and probably displace stama for the back up job within 1 year, as the clock moves on his career. If either Chencinski or Thomas can secure their teams respective starting jobs this season, either would be second by the end of the year IMO, however, I think Crepeau has the most upside of all the goalies in our p

  13. Here, fixed the spacing on the BSB logo, that shit was driving me insane. Also, if they need it in vector format, don't you dare let them charge you a digitization fee. I have it in vector format already just let me know which type and who to send it to.

  14. Well that is a surprise, did not expecct that. And could not tell you how he came to make that deal, only that their best striker, a Brazilian, Yuri, was just sold to China and they must have had a free roster spot, combined with Humey being out of contract. A couple points above relegation. This is the team that Nsaliwa was signed to help for a few games before they went down to 2B, then came back up almost immediately to 2A. I guess Tam thought 2B was below him. They have a new coach, Nistal, who may be provisional or may stay, depending upon results. Before they had Barragán who playe

  17. I would propose two matches on the same day a week before season opens.. Vcup vs US Open CUp Supporters Shield v MLS Champion Obviously if someone won two or three cups you can use runners up like they do in other countries. I think that would be a great way to kick off the season. Our own community shield day.

  18. So pre-season is around the corner and everyone is interested in seeing how teams mesh and how the youngsters do but aside from that there's not a lot of pizzazz. All of the friendly tournaments lack any sparkle. Who's actually excited by the SIMPLE INVITATIONAL? It might be annoying but I kind of want a Super Cup: MLS Cup vs S.S. vs. US Cup vs. Can Champ. Super Cups, while largely a novelty done for charity, do carry some weight as they are recognized as a proper cups unlike friendly tournaments and annually holding it at Toyota Park in Frisco could help bring attention to the future US Socce

  19. I saw a bit of the game where they beat Portugal in Portugal. Like a lot of the lower level European teams, they're solid and well-organized and challenged offensively. I would expect the game vs. Canada to be a snoozefest unfortunately and a tie to be a good result. One thing I've noticed about watching the Euro qualifiers this time around is how hard-working the smaller teams are nowadays. I always feel Canada's work ethic is relatively inadequate.
