  1. Check it out! Made this before the semester started, hopefully it fires you up. Show it to people deciding to come or not! Upper bowl needs to be red!

  2. By that logic, MLS and NASL aren't that different based on the last two years of play between both Montreal and Vancouver vs FC Edmonton. Both years, the MLS club was pushed until literally the last min in order to move on.

That was something I didn't see coming. A truly pleasant surprise at both the quality and quantity of players they are turning out. I was of the opinion that we'd get one here and there from the independent academies. This stream of quality players is great to see.

  19. Just to clarify a few things, the CSA didn't 'take advice' from anyone to open the upper bowl like it hadn't occurred to them. It was financial risk over demand from day one. The demand is there, the extra costs involved are now worth it....that's about the only thing on the the table there. We don't don't have to 'believe' in a Canadian crowd, we know there will be one as has been stated multiple times by the reasonable estimates in the purchase patterns. This does not take into account the resale market that no one can look at. If they didn't do what they did, and if th

  21. Here's a good article regarding Forest City London joining League1 Ontario. A wee nugget in the article about League1 Ontario clubs being able to play for the Voyageurs Cup http://www.lfpress.com/2016/01/12/forest-city-london-puts-down-roots-in-osa-model

  22. I think that a NASL/USL merger is totally off the table, mostly due to the history behind the split and the way MLS and USL have partnered to take away NASL clubs (Minnesota, San Antonio, Atlanta).

  23. This. While I can completely understand this "sky is falling" mentality about the NASL, the honest truth of it is that Atlanta fading out is a good thing for FCEd and Ottawa. That's a rumored 150,000 USD that Edmonton and Ottawa won't have to pay to keep the league at the proper number of clubs. The more I look at Rayo OKC, the more I'm starting to wonder how heavy Rayo (the original one) is actually invested in things. Things are pretty much status quo for NASL in the spring, and they grow by one in the fall (so absolute WORST CASE is that the 2017 season sees the same number of clubs as
