Wow.  That win is the text-book definition of UGLY.  How it took an own goal to settle the affair is beyond me.

Match did have an ebb and flow to it.  That makes for a better watch but an earlier goal would have maybe helped the night.  An earlier Valour goal especially.

Couple of contests out there tonight.  Kwemi and Dada-Luke  and Zanatta vs the Valour back 4 (Alarcon to be sure).  Can't say Pacific isn't missing Heard.  Can't say Dante Campbell isn't Valour's Player of the Year.

Even with the max points PDS can no be please.  Valour still out of tune and at the worst time possible.  Not their best night by a long shot but still, there it is.  A result.

Pacific host Cavalry next Saturday.  Tonight aside, Pacific have come through the toughest part of their year in a profitable position but might be spent.  Cavalry really looking like they're going to have an oversized say in who get's the wildcard spot.

Wanderers host Vancouver next Saturday.  Wanderers, like Valour, finding a way to keep themselves a part of the pack but finding they've run out of road.  Vancouver have lost three of their last 5 but were marks for coming out of Spruce Meadows with a draw.

Valour host Forge next Sunday.  It's one of the universe's great mysteries as to why Valour have Forge's number.  Which of course means a correction is due any time now....

Remaining schedules look like:

Vancouver FC
AT HFX
vs. Valour
AT Atletico

Pacific
vs. Calvary
AT York
vs. Forge

HFX
vs. Vancouver
AT Cavalry
vs. York

Valour
vs. Forge
AT Vancouver
vs. Cavalry

Of those Vancouver clearly have the best schedule on paper for a playoff spot. Pacific should be the toughest and us and HFX are a bit of a wash. That said, Vancouver should be easiest because one of the bottom feeder games is against us so I suppose we have it in our hands on some level.

Also that said, Valour will miss the playoffs as is the Valour way and we will never take something in our hands.

A month ago I would have said anybody playing York was in trouble, today I'm of a different opinion.  That 5th place finish may bring a bit more joy to whoever grabs hold of it.  Something more than being considered an also-ran anyway.

I'd suggest playing against anyone not named Forge gives you at least some chance or earning an upset.  Right now at least.

I feel like it's coming down to that Vancouver Valour game

Also worth noting:

- Vancouver only has 1 home game, the other have 2.

- HFX and Valour still have U21 minutes requirement to finish.
