To be polite, Cavalry were having their way with Pacific that 2nd half.  And I mean "having their way".  

Tale of two tables this 2024.  There's going to be some daylight between the top 4 and whoever wins the bottom 4 when it's all done and dusted.  Bottom four still get to have some fun though, such is the playoff model this season.  So in that regard, job done.

yeah but if it was top four for playoffs pacific would really be going for it not bring four outfielders and then shut down in the second and hfx would also really be going for it...instead we get two pretty boring games because teams are settling to fight for being a mediocre fifth place team

Pacific today might be a different case, unwisely resting a few players for a lost cause match vs Whitecaps, but in general the bottom 4 teams are in the bottom because they're not good. Not because they are holding back for some reason.

With the possible exception of Halifax, the CanPL standings likely correlate closely to player budget and where clubs sit between the salary cap and floor.

Pacific are just bad this year. None of our signings, other than maybe Quintana, have really worked out. Disappointing all around

We miss Manny most of all. No connection or urgency or chemistry through the midfield. I like Young and Toussaint but they aren’t and shouldn’t be running the offense. Yeates and Lamothe were giveaway machines this weekend with no ideas for unlocking any defense, let alone one as organized as Cavalry.  Looked to me as though Trafford was Yeates’ man and Yeates let him go for the Cavalry goal, then threw his arms up to complain about… something.
 

Overall, Zanatta’s been a bust too and Moore is not great other than some good holdup, but it’s hard to evaluate the front line when they get zero service.

Would like to see more of Greco-Taylor and Sami K going forward. Both played with some heart and urgency in Calgary.
