narduch
Have to wonder how sustainable this tournament is if the Mexican teams continue to not perform well (for whatever reason is the cause). Eventually they will simply want to back out. The money can't be that great, especially if you never go deep. The next 2 years will be interesting. There is the Club World Cup next summer as well as the Gold Cup. And then the World Cup in 2026. MLS already announced they will break for it Edited August 1 by narduch

narduch
I guess Whitecaps didn't include this Leagues Cup game in their season ticket package Tijuana beating the Whitecaps 1-0. Whitecaps would be eliminated if this score stands Edited August 4 by narduch
Big_M
they come back and take it 3-1 and finish first of their group...the sartini hate continues but this is still the best team in canada and a lot of mls teams would love to have the results theyve had in the last three years...only one year left on his contract they better offer him a big new contract or other teams will

He was suspended because of a tirade at the end of the last Leagues Cup game. Under Sartini they have 2 Voyageurs Cups (good!) and zero playoff wins in 3 games (bad). Sartini continues to insist that they play "the perfect defensive system". They have 1 clean sheet since May 4th, and that was against a Pacific team struggling to score. I think Schuster has improved the quality of the team, and Sartini holds them back. If another team wants to offer him a big new contract, they're more than welcome to have him. longlugan
