nolando
I know I'm just one fan, but it's a hard sell even for a rabid soccer guy like me to drive out to go and sit on aluminum seats in more than 30 degrees of uncovered sun at 3 pm on a Saturday. My wife and kids are also soccer fans but that's a hard no for them too. It feels like chicken and egg this business about a covered stand; Langley and/or the club won't pay for it unless there are more supporters, but you won't get more supporters without a covered stand, I'd say. Big_M
rommens goes straight in the eleven and crawford starts also...tahid makes the 18 ahead of dzikowski but probably wont get on the field with fisk and dyer on the bench...campagna makes the bench also

Rolling the dice with another new foreigner. I guess Crawford is the extra fullback with Chung still out, James Cameron with the U20s, and Bah not shining after one great performance a couple matches back. Is Norman out for anything other than coach's decision, I wonder? Campagna really low on the prospect list this season. Nice to see Grady there again. nolando
Slow, laboring, long ball football.. what else would you expect in this temperature midday, mid-summer?
nolando
Crawford isn't tidy enough on the bal, doesnt mark tightly enough, and doesn't have any extra strength or speed to make up for these shortcomings. Another Year One guy who they can afford to let go of this season. Powell another one who doesn't bring anything of note for me.
nolando
Gee's final ball is lacking today, maybe a result of him playing on the opposite side from his typical LB.

You can't make this up. K Edgar
nolando
Invisible marking on Vancouver's left side on the goal, responsibility shared between Crawford and Bitar. Edited July 20 by nolando
nolando
Campagna in for Crawford, and immediately slides over to RB while Gee moves back to his customary LB.
nolando
Enyou poor again, such boneheaded decisions in the box. Easily could have been 2-0.
nolando
Vancouver players seemingly not responding to coaching instructions. It kind of looks like Ghotbi's last match is coming soon.
nolando
Renan's shooting is atrocious. So wasteful.
nolando
Grady, looking like a young Fisk, blazes in behind the York D from the corner and gives Diaz an easy tap in. 1-1.

BC Soccer Provincials are in Kamloops this weekend. And then those high profile U20/U21 matches involving British clubs a couple weeks after that at the same location. Smoky and hot as heck. Really makes you think about long-term viability of outdoor sports in the summer in the interior. Edited July 21 by nolando

Smoke from fires is one thing but you can control start times. Evening matches would be a must at this time of the year. nolando

At this pace Kelowna will only be viable with an indoor stadium. Stanley
