Ally McCoist
There will be no in-between. We are either getting spanked or make it very close. Edited June 5 by Ally McCoist Kusch to the Corner
Obinna
Stadion Feijenoord. What better opportunity for Cornelius to step up and impress his rumoured suitors. Kadenge, johnyb, Canuckia and 2 others

World Cup against France, off the top of my head. Edit: and this I love history, even somewhat recent. Lineups - Canada Craig Forrest Colin Miller, Ian Carter, Iain Fraser, Randy Samuel, Frank Yallop Lyndon Hooper, Geoff Aunger, Nick Dasovic Eddy Berdusco, Carlo Corazzin Netherlands Ed de Goey Ronald Koeman, Frank de Boer, Stan Valckx Wim Jonk, Frank Rijkaard, Jan Wouters Marc Overmars, Bryan Roy, Ronald de Boer, Dennis Bergkamp Pretty stacked there. They fact I know all but 1 of those names 30 - 30! - years later says something. I wonder what Koeman, their current manager, remembers of that. Mihairokov
I know we've played them before - I mean CMNT physically playing in either of these countries. WestHamCanadianinOxford and Unnamed Trialist 1

Sorry too excited about the history to read properly, apparently. Edit - Just once each though, unless the internet records are faulty. red card
Opta analysis says Netherlands & France are similar in style. So, good style prep for Argentina and tactically similar to Belgium/Croatia World Cup matches. In Euro qualifying, the Dutch and the French direct play was around the median amongst Euro qualified teams. But their passes per sequence was way above median. Unnamed Trialist
As I see it, this will be our better match. I think it'll be more entertaining too. I opted not to go to this one and go to Bordeaux closer to home, but I'm not as thrilled by that one. A key factor is we'll start our best 11 (well maybe 8 in broad consensus) but vs France we'll have to rotate the squad more. France is also more dangerous for us than the Dutch. In any case, I think for one of these we'll get a result. cornerkick, jhoops__ and YorkRegionFan
dyslexic nam
Score predictions? I am going with a 3-1 loss where we can take pride in the fact that we fought hard but were ultimately outclassed. Not exactly super-optimism, but it seems plausible. Watchmen and narduch

Kadenge
Pumped to see our team perform under Marsch. Brutal first test, but the players will know they will have to be at their best. Effort should not be lacking and Jesse should get a good read from all the players that see the field tmr. Unnamed Trialist
1 hour ago, Joe MacCarthy said: I like that Marsch is motivational in a natural way without being a spin doctor. He doesn't say anything that is BS. Unlike Herdman, he's used to a high work ethic, because he's coached full seasons, not 6-8 games a year (Herdman is a novice at club football, and may be working it out). Marsch is a more natural coach because he's been a player, he does not seem to be compensating, not trying to prove anything, not getting his ego in the way. So far, pretty good. I'll wait until I disagree with his player selection or mid-game decisions starting 24 hours from now to change my tune. mpg_29
Brutal first match? Arguably a brutal first month. Peru and Chile alone would be have been a tough test. In this scenario those games might end up being a relief. costarg
