I think tonight is the night that Forge finally get over the hump and take out Montreal . Montreal is in disarray and there is not a better time for Forge to take them out .

Forge obviously have to score and with both of their experienced strikers being questionable at best for this match I don't think this will turn out how many are expecting/hoping! Forge controlled large parts of the match at home but still conceded and have no advantage going in to the away leg vs a team which should be much better even with a 2nd choice team playing! The youngster Kone has shown potential up front but it might be a tough ask for him to lead the line against an MLS squad on the road, hopefully Forge can get some attack from others and make things tough for CF Montreal who are reeling a bit!

Either CFM react well and come out incredibly strong or they react poorly and Forge advance. 😛

Forge as expected playing without a striker, Hamilton is on the bench, he obviously isn't 100% or he would be starting, the offence will have to come from wide positions, Poku may very well be starting up front!

I mean, I don't think getting over the hump is really the right way to put it here because, as you noted yourself, there is a shit ton of exceptional circumstances playing into it. If Forge win tonight the most likely scenario is that its remembered as a moment of glory for them and one of the highlights of a calamitous season for us until we return to how things are usually, i.e. the Impact dispatching the or any other CPL club the vast majority of the time.

Agreed on the rest though.

Putting Iliadis, Breza and Zouhir on while keeping Piette, Lassiter, Waterman, Sirois and Vilsaint on the bench...

Yes to the first no to the second. The reasons why he didn't get hired don't disapear because he was able to take advantage of the current mess, i.e no MLS club is ever going to give him the kind of control he has in Hamilton from the get go, and neither Wheldon or Kah got the Vancouver job after defeating it when they had far less excuses.

Like, honestly I get that the Forge fanclub want him to get a move up but common! 

EDIT: And anybody who believe he would drastically better then Courtois are drastically overestimating him. He'd still have to deal with the same mess and while I think he wouldn't have been as bad (for a start he would have made sure we have our best available XI to at least not lose against Forge) he would have made miracles.

Illiadis is not a professional calibre level player.

0-2 at the break with lots of boos from the crowd...great half by forge and now need to manage it to close it out and maybe even score a third to completely put it away...montreal should be ashamed with this performance...need to make at least 3 subs if not 4 or 5...likely courtois' last half as montreal coach unless he completely turns it around...iliadis and zouhir have no business playing with the first team of montreal

Borges and Poku have been great. Have liked Campbell's game. Duke should be doing more.

I guess we'll see Waterman and Piette in the second half?

Zouhir is not one I would have singled out for poor play in the first half.

Piette should have been in the starters but now is not the time since we need to score. Lassiter, Vilsaint and Alvarez methink.
