10 minutes added on and haile scores from a bad angle at 45+8 on sirois who keeps being hyped as all that

No goalie is perfect, and the alternatives to Sirois for Canada are certainly not either. Sirois also made a spectacular save a few minutes before and killed several chances of scoring during the first half before they happened by his good read of the play.

On a broader note, that goal was utterly ridiculous. Both due to 10 minutes of added time not having any justification and even a quick replay showing its offside. Can't wait for the real refs to be back...

I'm just shocked that the Emperor of Ethiopia is still alive and plays for Chicago

Master degree in History here: I always thought he got he raw deal and while he wasn't perfect he certainly didn't deserve what happened to him, or appear to have happened... I am happy he actually got out and reconverted as a Soccer player :P

On a more serious note, good god do these referee teams have no idea how offside work!

Yankov make it 3-1 at the end of a beautiful piece of collective play :)

The sheer reading of the play by Martinez on this was just wonderous to see.

If we don't win I'd actually be in favour of us making an official protest on the game. The only thing that could even remotely justify a fault, let alone a red card, was clearly out of the PK zone.

By any rights it should 3-0 Impact right now.

Shouldn't have been corner, shouldn't have been a penalty, should have been offisde. Utter incompetence from the refs which are going to still two points from us.

It’s insanity. This is up there with the worst officiated matches I’ve ever seen but certainly the worst with VAR available. Does this ref know he has VAR?

The ref just decided he wanted an exciting match and started calling everything for Chicago.

Honestly, I think he just want to appease the crowd after the two early penalties. But here is the thing: the two penalties were good and like 80% of your paycheck as a ref at a high level is to deal with the pressure from the crowd. This is a complete steal and the refs shouldn't get within a mile of a professional game again.

Either way epic collapse by Montreal here

To an extent yes but to a pretty large extent we have still been utterly set up by the refs. I am not saying this lightly because I used to be a ref myself but I was dead serious earlier on: we should make a protest on this one.

Did they ever show a replay of the Edwards red?

Yep and a) Red was VERY strict and b) it was plainly out of the box.

hes all that hes all that hes all that...goal from 60 meters out but its the refs fault...one of the worst blunders in mls history

He had a moment of weakness when his team was more or less utterly set up by the refs, with the wind playing a key role too, and with all due respect, if it was your club who had been the victim of that parody of referring you'd be singing a VERY different tune right now.
