Glad to see TFC brought in a completely useless American (Wingo) so that a solid developing Canadian (Franklin) gets to sit on the bench.
Seems like another Transfermarkt signing.

What a terrible summer transfer window overall.

Other MLS teams make actual improvements. TFC grabs players from the Hungarian league

He cost us last night. What’s even crazier was before the game I was laughing at DC for being in last. Then I saw the points table and couldn’t believe the shit number of teams who were tied with them at 26 points.

TFC have no games in hand with some tough teams to finish the season. TFC will be rueing the missed opportunities from both DC games. I think it costs them the playoffs.

Also, I don’t see them beating Vancouver away on that turf. Especially after losing to them 4-0 and just scraping through Forge.

Another season written off. Same old TFC.

heres a crazier stat: all three goals scored from dc came by players they subbed in including one who is a summer recruit...having a proper bench vs not...so many things are wrong with the team...how do you think its a good idea to get laryea as dp when theres tons of wingbacks instead of getting a striker...also herdman admitted that he made too many player and position changes at the end of the game

3 wins 1 draw in the last 6 games needed to make playoffs which includes games vs miami columbus red bulls

Laryea is only a DP due to the financial constraints of MLS. This is only temporary. Getting a true #10 will be the team’s biggest concern in the offseason. As we saw yesterday, there is no creativity in this team.

Wingo looked like an amateur player they brought in from the crowd on DC’s 2nd goal.  Shocking.

Him and Laryea had no chemistry at all. There was at least one time where he told Laryea to sprint. So Laryea did and Wingo just dribbled up until he got picked up and then promptly turned the ball over.

I guess someone will need to ask Herdman about it at the next presser.

They were missing someone on sat though, hmmmm who was it...someone creative in the midfield......Coello..nah, servania...nah.  Let me think it'll come to me.

Haha, Passenger Oso being creative? I guess playing regressive is now deemed as being “creative”. 🤣

We’re talking about the same guy who has not had one complete game this season as being creative? Hilarious!!!

Unfortunately, Laryea has not looked his normal self since returning as well but Wingo looks out of his element altogether.

Games like this are what has made it maddening to be a TFC fan this year.  Play reasonably well some games and then lose badly to the worst team in the conference at home.

With this loss we remain at +11 on the season.

Next up, Austin come to visit for the first time ever.  We lost our only ever previous match to Austin 1-0 on the road.  Hopefully we can even things up in the all time series.

Austin just lost at home to the Caps and apparently looked pretty sad in the process.

Granted, in this league and against this particular opponent, maybe all bets are off.  But if TFC sh*ts the bed here at home in this one, someone's seat is going to become a whole lot hotter.

Does it really matter at this point how bad the opponent’s record or how bad they might have looked the previous game or games ? Remember this is a TFC team that got blown out by Chicago at home earlier in the season , Chicago who have been crap now forever and again are crap this season too .

Exactly my point.  Hard matches to wager on.

I think they have to move on from both of the Italians.

You can't recruit just on money with certain players, they have to want to be here, and have respect for the MLS product.

They needed to find a way to move on from them after last season but alas, management couldn't make it happen.

Bernardeschi is easier to move. He makes way less and is performing well.

I think they are stuck with Insigne. He makes too much. Although I am predicting he leaves after the 2025 season ends. By that time he would have accrued so much money (way more than he was ever going to get in Europe) and it will no longer be worth the hassle.

That would be disappointing.  He's been playing very well this year.  Now, if Insigne were to leave...

He's better at adapting to the physical play than Insigne, but he doesn't respect the league, he's more dramatic than Defoe when he's on the field.

You can see it in his body language.

You aren't wrong but I'm more interested in his output than whether he accompanies it by drama.  The only downside to the drama is that he picks up so many yellow cards that he misses two or three games a season with accumulation.
