A supporter group person says onus is on Cav players not to come that close when celebrating. They also were first to make contact with the fans. The excessive celebration was pure provocation.

I said this was going to happen! Look back to week 1 when Aparicio celebrated in front of the visiting Vancouver fans. That is the reason why these celebrations are supposed to receive a yellow card according to the laws of the game, but that hasn't been enforced all season.

Both sides are at fault, and both sides should be punished.

I feel for the Ottawa supporters, because I know in the heat of the moment I have crossed the line as well.
