USL Player Statistics

Recommended Posts

As mentioned previously, I am getting back to tracking USL statistics.  I will be starting MLS NextPro & Canadian Premier League statistics for Canadian's as well this season.

I have included Canadian players from both the USL Championship & League 1 in this chart.  I have also included a couple players that have recently left their USL club but remain without a club.  I will update depending on where they land.

If there is any Canadian or Canadian eligible player that I am missing, please let me know and I will have them added.

Nice the players we get to track that should come on home.

100%.  These types of players should be playing in the CPL but I don't blame them as they are likely paid more and in a more established league.  Hopefully we slowly see these calibre of players transition to the CPL, which I believe we already are starting to see.

I think they are paid the same dollar amount, the conversion to USD make it's a little more. Guys like Pasher, and Doner I'll assume are on bigger wages.

But you're right, I think next year when the CPL will have a minimum of 2 clubs in the champions league will be a heavy influence for some guys. At least it should be.

Karl Ouimette, Ryan James and Adonijah Reid moving to CanPL from USLC this season is arguably balanced by Brett Levis and Terique Mohammed moving in the opposite direction with Ryan Telfer, Tyler Pasher and Jay Chapman opting for USLC over CanPL.

Next Pro emerging muddies the water a bit on what the overall trend is because many of the players moving from CanPL to Next Pro or vice versa would previously have moved to or from USLC when there were a lot more MLS reserve and affiliate teams in that context

I'd love for another player like Adonijah Reid to earn himself a starting position at Pacific. The minutes are there for the taking, but I think he's likely behind a few players based on preseason (Heard, Sellouf, Daniels etc.). He just needs to keep working

USL Updates.  I am aware that Bunbury has been loaned out to MLS NextPro.  I am also waiting to see where some of the other players land (hopefully back home in the CPL).

Final USL Updates for the 2023 Season

It appears that I had made a mistake on the previous post where I had 8 goals for Tyler Pasher but it was a typo and supposed to be 4 goals.

Kwame finally returned to action playing 41 minutes in 2 of the final games of the season.  Only 41 minutes played including a start so perhaps another injury or reaggravated the previous injury.

I would love to see Tani & Zouhir get an opportunity in MLS next season and would love to see Doner, Dossantos, Chapman, Harris, Pasher and perhaps a couple others make the switch over to the CPL as well.

Why would Doner return to the CPL?

Given his good stats this season, does he have any MLS chances? He is older, but Pasher made the jump, so why not Doner? Defenders can be late bloomers.

Much less Canadian's playing in the USl Championship this season as some are without clubs and others have moved over to NextPro and even a few to the CPL.  However, it does appear that most of the players in the USL this season are seeing early minutes this year, aside from 17 year old dual national Ben Norris.
