Obviously a very important match as they all are at this point, it will be my first time watching Forge live since the match on August 6th which is the last time they won a match! A home loss today and I think there will be real concern whether this team can even make the play offs, this is a great chance for Forge to get a win over a quality opponent and get some confidence back!

Second Cavalry red was a second yellow and the guy was arguably lucky not to be sent off along with Borges after the earlier incident so no problems there. First Cavalry red looks soft but the linesman has a great view of it so presumably he saw something that is difficult to catch from the camera angle.

The CSA and the league need to clamp down on discipline. Too many games are degenerating into the sort of lowest common denominator bs that happens in NHL hockey. Often tends to be a problem in leagues where teams play each other too often and get sick of the sight of each other.

Looked like Becker may have been trying to break the guy's leg and if that's what is in the referee's report he should be suspended for a while.

Boy is Forge easy to dislike, what a bunch of douches.

Bekker has been pulling that shit since the very first game of the CPL. Good riddance.

Then the play acting on the sideline from the Forge player should never have been bought by the ref. Chiara was just rushing to get to the ball, slightly touches him on his arm or shoulder, apologies with his hand, but there is jerk clutching his face and writhing on the ground.

That is anti-football, Jenssen deliberately trying to get a rival carded by play acting. Then Jenssen, after a cheap shot on Cantave and seeing he is down, goes down rubbing the back of his head, which was nowhere near any point of contact.

Then Henry dives to get the second card against Cantave.

We don't need cheats like that in the CPL.

Play acting is something I hate too but an unfortunate reality of the game. In the 4 years I've been watching I've seen every team have a player or two guilty of it. Escalante is a master of it and has probably fucked every team at least once. Sometimes I wonder if poor officiating, wich this game had plenty of, frustrates the players to the point where they are more willing to play act. Matches where the refs are on point seem to have less of this bullshit. I hate seeing it even more when it's my team guilty of it. That being said, epic game to watch live last night.

I commented in the first half that this match had potential to get ugly, the ref was letting way too much stuff go and things eventually boiled over! I am all for letting the game flow but a couple of deserved yellow cards in the beginning may have kept the match under control!

Anyone see the official attendance number? I only caught a few minutes of the game but the crowd looked decent on TV.

Ultimately, the contest was another excellent showcase for the CPL between two of its best teams. A strong crowd of almost 5,000 fans at Tim Hortons Field will undoubtedly have gone home satisfied.
