Voyageurs Meetup in Qatar

Just making sure the maximum number of people see this.

Jason L (one of the Voyageurs based in Ottawa) has been working away to try to organize an event for Canadian supporters in Qatar.  It will be a lunch or dinner and the date will depend on what works best for us.

This is not a Voyageurs meet up but may be of interest to anyone who will be in Doha by the 19th.  Just posted on Big Soccer - the poster made it clear in a later post that it was open to everyone, not just US supporters:

Not sure if this has been covered before here, but there is a meet up at Stock Burger in Doha for any traveling V's:

Min spend is 200 QAR, which makes this much more affordable than Canada House. But to guarantee a spot, need to sign up and pay @CanadianTraveller the $77CAD by Nov 16.

Hi guys!  Was just wondering if the spreadsheet that Jason was putting together for lunch get together availability’s, is it the Stock Burger meet up?   Or is there separate events occurring for the voyageurs lunch?

I think that was a proposed meet up at the Pearl Hilton. I'm actually unclear if that is going ahead as planned. This Stock Burger meet up is different. Organized by Mark Austen, whose handle here I forget unfortunately.

Hi everyone.  The message at the top was something that Jason Leclair was looking into back in the summer but it fell through (no fault on anyone’s part).  
There are two gatherings I’m aware of:

1) Canada Soccer House 

2) The Stock Burger one at the Holiday Inn near the airport. 
 

Both require prepayments in the form of deposits or actual payment to be made.  No one can just show up to these events.

STOCK BURGER UPDATE

 

For those still wanting to join Stock Burger, we have had to close taking join ups so we could pay the venue their deposit. 

 

That being said, you likely can still join for the 23 Nov or 1 Dec by either just showing up on the day or calling them to make your own reservation.  27 Nov is definitely full.

 

You will need to pay 200 QAR either when you reserve or at the door for entry. They will give you coupons for that amount to spend inside.

 

The relevant times for meet-ups each day. We will be finishing roughly 4 hours before the match coincide with Canada House’s ending and to ensure fans are at the stadium 3 hours before to jointly march as well as have enough time to soak up the atmosphere at the stadium.

 

23 Nov: 15:15 to 18:15 

27 Nov: 12:30 to 15:30 

1 Dec: 12-14
