Does that mean he is cap tied to us or can he still switch to Cuba?  😀

Former CF Montreal keeper Clément Diop signs with Inter Miami.

And Montreal will not be taking any Keepers in todays draft, despite MLSsoccer.com identifying a keeper as Montreal's most pressing need in the draft.

Its things like that comment that make me question almost everything they put out.  They dont seem to put much work into it at all.

Good to see Omeonga back at a high level.  I believe he was the kid that got injured before the U17 WC a couple of years back and missed it but had scored a couple in qualifying.

That's good news indeed. I was very impressed with his play during  the U17 Concacaf WCQ. Great skill on the ball and plays with a bit of grit.

Footgate : Dirigeants, arbitres, entraîneurs, ... Le parquet veut poursuivre 57 personnes en justice - DH Les Sports+ (dhnet.be)

I posted this in the Tajon Buchanan thread but it has relevance here as well.  Olivier Renard is also among the 57 people named in the corruption and match fixing probe in Belgium.

I can't believe Saputo fired Gilmore, the person who was behind this failed rebrand, and the name still hasn't changed. Not only that, but that Saputo doubled down on it when meeting with supporter groups. I just don't understand why they pushed him out the door only to continue on with his plans..

Anyways, I don't think I've ever seen less excitement or talk around this club to start a season. Maybe a CCL run can change that but a lot of the hardcore fans that made up the community are radio silent, and the casuals / euro fans they wanted to appeal to are even less inclined to follow the team then they were before.

ngl, that is pretty disappointing.

I'd say more like very disappointing.  I understand it kinda provides cover for the young guys just in case we discover they don't pan out as well as expected.  But i've just seen enough of this guy.  I'd rather lose with the young Canadians hoping for a better tomorrow, as opposed to maybe looking a little more composed at times in the back, while knowing he will make huge mistakes.  The young guys will learn from their mistakes, this guy just doesn't ever learn.

It won't change overnight, we knew this from the start, there's a lot of drama to get over.  People are still turned off from the whole thing, ON BOTH SIDES.  People willing to support the new brand are also keeping their distance because of the negativity surrounding the old fans.  Like everything Montreal, they need to win to fill the stadium.

The storm needs to pass, the more we keep it present the longer it'll take to build the new team.

It's definitely tiring but I don't get this two sides argument. I don't think there are many actually for this rebrand. I know there are some out there, but they seem to be a vast minority. In my experience people are either completely against it, or never cared about the Impact / MLS, and certainly don't care now because of it. Just a complete swing and miss imo.

I mean just look at how much hype the club got again when they announced the firing of Gilmore. Everybody thought the club was going back on its mistakes, and the club was alive again both on social media and on ticket sales. That only stopped because people realised it wasn't the case.

I get there are a lot of things to figure out moving forward but all it would take to start that process of healing is bring back the name in one way or another, and bring back the ultras. No history / atmosphere = No attracting the Eurosnob fans they desperately desire.
