WCQ: Canada vs Panama - Wednesday, Oct 13, 7:30pm Eastern / 4:30pm Pacific - Toronto

Recommended Posts

Let’s not underestimate this Panama side just look at what they have done so far , this is a very good CONCACAF national team , this is a very dangerous game , if we thought that Honduras game was hard this game is going to be even harder than that Honduras home game . We need the Canada of the El Salvador home game performance , the Canada of the US and Mexico Gold Cup performance but with a win at the end,  and the US and Mexico World Cup qualifying away game performance but with a win at the end . We are not winning this game just because we are playing at home and we are playing on a good field in front of a Canadian crowd , they need to show up and play like the Canada that has been turning heads in a lot of the games lately. But I’ll say it again this Panama team is dangerous and it will take an incredible performance to win this game .

Apparently Hoilett was not in training today so safe to assume he's out for tomorrow.

No choice but to go with David up top again in the XI and maybe Brym makes his third appearance of the window.

Inexcusable that we didn't call in replacements for not even one of Cav, Hoilett or Larin.

this better not come to haunt us tomorrow.

Can we all just spend the next 24 hours not complaining about the lack of calls and open the floodgates on a loss or even a tie?    We have heard it all and all agree.

I saw someone else say it was a hamstring tear for Hoilett.  What’s recovery like for that (thinking about November)?

The Fake Hoops will be less than pleased about that, hopefully for Canada's sake it is only a grade one!

That's not something you should admit to doing

Especially if you can plan out the yellows, why couldnt you plan to have a full squad??  He didnt know there was a very good chance Larin, Hutch and Borjan werent goign to be ready??  So why call them at all...bring in 3 healthy guys, Akindele or Corbeanu would be helpful now.

Herdman out!

In seriousness though, it shows how silly it was for some to immediately proclaim him the king of Canada (and mock anyone who dared question him) after gaining the point in Mexico.   This is a marathon, not a sprint, and we will only know the quality of the collective coaching decisions at the end of the campaign (just like we will only know the wisdom of the approach taken in Mexico at the end of this window).  There is no doubt that the failure to call in adequate reinforcements (and the question marks around some of the other personnel decision) raise a few eyebrows.  Hopefully we don’t come to regret them.
