What are the current covid restrictions in BC for game attendance?

I saw on FB (so it must be true)  that it is 50% or 5K.   Wasn't the caps limit 13K?  This was in reference to a Pacific game.

Did it change?

There were definitely more than 5k for the LAFC match at BC Place. The Lions did 12.5k, I think the Caps were less. 8-10 I'd say. Masks now required for Aug 29.

Yeah, it was a misunderstanding I think.

The rule on the gov site is very poorly worded.

Yeah, 5K was for Starlight stadium in particular based on total capacity.

Talking to [crap, I forgot his name] from Rain City Brigade post-match last night. BC Place will have a mask mandate and vaccine requirement when that takes effect because they are "indoors" while Starlight is requiring masks in limited areas (like bathrooms) because we are "outdoors".

As I understand it, it is 50% of capacity or 5K, whichever is more.

Yes its 5,000 and anything beyond is 50%. For instance BC Place lower Bowl is somewhere a bit beyond 26k. They're selling every 2nd row. Theyve said they're selling 13k seats. The first game felt a little shy of that

Hopefully it’s more by January when the Canada US game is most likely there. A raised capacity more importantly means things are going in the right direction, hopefully anyways.

Presumably the capacity for the National team is 55k. They could do nothing and argue that filling the lower bowl is 50%.

Without wiki im sure its 55k. So probably 25k ish. Yah they would likely contribute to the ubsurdity of it all and just fill up the bottom bowl and call it a day.
