Match Thread: July 24, 2021 - HFX Wanderers v Valour

Match is at 2pm ET on One Soccer. 

Valour won the previous meeting. They could go 7 points clear of 2nd with a win

Very interested to see what happens in this one. A Valour win would create some distance at the top and bottom of the table, depending partly on what happens between Ottawa and Edmonton. Valour may struggle in their first full game without Jean-Baptiste, though they managed alright after we went off last match and Halifax (3 goals from 7 matches) may not threaten as much as other opponents.

Wanderers definitely have been the better side for the latter part of this half. The back three showing their unfamiliarity with those positions (no natural CBs in the bunch).

I suspect AJB-less Valour will look like this too often in the remainder of the season. Simply no defensive talent or leadership until they bring someone in.
