Bison44
Midseason top drawer rankings for NCAA college kids. Figured this probably deserves a bump as the CMNT has been getting plenty of NCAA player making a big impact (Buchanon, Johnston, Miller, Lareya, Larin) Upperclassmen #23 K.Heibert, D MissSt, #45 D. Kerr, F Syracuse, #61 N. DosSantos, D marshall, #70 Ovante Mullings, F FGCU. Freshmen #54, Malyk Henry, Akron, M only one on the list. NCAA is such a crap shoot, but we have been getting some nuggets out of there, so I guess it pays to see who is coming along. Same deal as last year..maybe a couple guys get drafted..??? Hard to say who might turn into the next Miller or Johnston, but Heibert has been a stud for a long time down there, and he is a CB/DM. Might just be what the doctor ordered. dyslexic nam, toontownman and masster

Canadamnt
Luka Gavran is currently a sophomore goalkeeper playing for the St. John red storm division 1. Born in Hamilton, Ontario he is listed as 6’6” tall and is born in 2000. He was just announced as the Big East goalkeeper of the year and is the national leader in shutouts in the NCAA. Certainly one to look for in the coming years with CanadaMNT potential and a starter in the CanPL. https://redstormsports.com/news/2021/11/8/mens-soccer-gavran-named-big-east-goalkeeper-of-the-year-bartlett-and-knapp-earn-first-team-honors.aspx Pottsy3, Bison44, shamrock and 3 others 3

Notre Dame advance to the QF and will face Pittsburg on the 4th at 5PM Not as many Canadians involved this year. The best prospects didn't make it to the final 16. Stryker911
Kyle Heibert was named to the NCAA first division all American squad for the 2nd straight year. He also has made the final 15 for the MAC Hermann trophy (won by Amanda last year) for the 2nd straight year. He is a but old at 24 to develop into a national team player, but I would think any CPL team would love to have him. sebdeserio and Tyler55

At 24 he's not a top prospect for the CMNT but if he could work his way into a MLS role you never know... he does play in our biggest area of need. This situation reminds me a bit of Alex Comsia from Vancouver, who went undrafted at 23 after being an All-American but was picked up by NCFC in the USL (and left once they dropped down to USL league one). At 24 and with no pro experience yet, you have to imagine he'll chase the biggest contract available. If he does drop through the MLS Draft and gets no USL offers, you'd have to imagine Valour will be chasing him. Their defending was woeful after losing AJB and local Manitoban professional soccer players aren't really a dime a dozen.

He'll get drafted by MLS, but that doesnt mean much. Look at Montgomery, who was a high pick and hasnt caught on yet. But this is the path Johnston, Buchanon etc were in a few years ago. Luka Gavran (keeper) with St Johns was 3rd team AA (junior). If you look at the list its kind of surprising how many of the kids are not from USA. Unnamed Trialist
Just to get back to the NCAA finals, with the final 4 this weekend, only 1 Canadian figured, for Notre Dame. They played the eventual winner Clemson in semis and lost on PKs, 1-1 after extra periods. And of those there, the only one who plays, as posted previously, is Mohammed Omar, a senior midfielder from Toronto. Plays virtually every minute. Omar almost won it for them in stoppage time 2nd half. For ND, PJ Bujouves is a mid from Toronto who is a Junior, but did not play hardly at all this year. Matthew Radivojsa is listed on the web, a Sophomore from Oakville, but is not on the season roster. As I believe he is of Serbian background perhaps he left? Approve My Account Pls
With the draft ongoing and a decent number of Canadians being selected, I wonder if we see the day an American MLS team loans a Canadian to the CPL soon. Is that something that's permitted? I understand it's likely that USL would be the loan destination, but if a CPL team having to play young Canadian's would guarantee your prospect minutes, surely that should be in consideration no?
