Yeah predicted it on my end. I thought they might put Corbeanu on the right, but Herdman seems married to the "adaptive shape" .

I'm going to assume in defense

------------David-------Larin-------------
---Osorio-----Eustaquio---Piette-----Laryea
---Davies----Kennedy----Henry---Johnston

in possession...

------------------David-------------------
----------Osorio----------Larin-------------
-Davies-------Eustaquio---Piette-----Laryea
-------Kennedy----Henry---Johnston------

Being reported as a 3-5-2 formation, Johnston as RCB.. I’m all for 3-5-2 going forward but to use it for the first time in such a crucial game does make me nervous, specially with Johnston being a natural RB. Nonetheless let’s get the job done lads!!

Not what I predicted but could plausibly happen. My thoughts are that Laryea will be a left back behind Davies to give Davies more freedom to roam with cover behind him.

Feeling a lot better after seeing this lineup vs ours.. I think Piette marks Chery and we overrun their midfield with just better ballers in Oso and Eusta. Good luck defending Richie and Alphonso without Becker and Bisewar having to hold back most of the game. I think they might have to risk it and just have Becker play high as a speed threat and leave us to overload with Larin, Davies and Oso on that side of the pitch.

A lot of guys in this Suriname team are going to need to step it up a lot of levels to compete with us here.

Lets get it.

I thought that was just Oli Platt's speculation?

Looks like almost the similar set up we used with USA at home.

Attack one formation, defend the other.

In my opinion @PopePouri nailed it.

Love this lineup btw!

let's go!!!!

Edit: he may not have 100% nailed it with player's position but formation wise I think he did. Time will tell!

I don't think that's it. More likely....

Johnston-----Henry-----Kennedy-----Laryea

-------------Eustaquio-----Piette-------------

------------------Osorio----------------------

Larin---------------David---------------Davies

Johnston. Another Herdman pet project, like Godinho before him. Let's hope it works out this time.

Kennedy with his first cap, when we have been calling for him to be part of the program for 2 years, and Herdman just recently decides he's good enough.

Alright, it is what it is. Let's just move forward and get the job done.

Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana are culturally very much Caribbean nations.

Whatever that means....
There's been a lot of Venezuelans that have migrated to Guyana and T&T.

I think "culturally" just means spanish speaking.

Makes sense and let's you defend 4-4-2, which let's Davies drop back to the LM leaving Larin and David up top.

Interesting if true. There is so much rotation and shifting in possession and out of it, so there will be variations, but I love the discussion.

If Laryea's at LB, we have no width on the right.

That is possibly true, but I think it comes down to priorities. I prefer Laryea behind Davies so Davies has a much more of a free role to operate (and hopefully pin Becker back a bit).

I don't know what it means; I'm just parroting what is said by those countries
