Winnipeg Fury
Any predictions on where Valour finish in the table ? One win in their last ten league matches (or is it eleven). I'm going with a traditional 6th place for Valour. Although that may be too optimistic, as they will actually have to win a couple to finish in 6th. toontownman
I really thought they were going to finish top 4. They are on quite the slump and don't seem to be able to turn it around at the moment. Eddies/York/Halifax are all on an upswing of form and even Ottawa have been unlucky. They could easily finish 7th at this rate. 5/6 seems the most likely. Winnipeg Fury

jonovision
The fact that they kept him on board after the disaster of year 1 is the only thing that makes his firing now surprising. Valour have been the worst team in the league since they left the bubble. It might be awkward to do, but I would have kept him on as coach and found someone new to do the signing and recruiting. (Just as example, they haven't signed a decent striker in three years). It's been clear from the beginning that Valour has had less talent on the roster than most, if not all, of the other CPL teams. I think his tactics and game-planning (and demeanor) have improved since year 1. jonovision
I should add that he doesn't get fired if AJB is healthy, but for an entire team's fortunes to be determined by one injury is another indictment of the shallow squad that he built. Otherwise they've been as abject as Valour. Bison44
Cheeta
Least surprising news of 2021. Gale and Miller have been banging heads for a while now, and I expect not in the healthy way that they should be, that's an open secret. The NFP structure of both organizations can be difficult to navigate with. Doesn't matter who sits in the gaffer's office that reality is always going to be there. HQ will say they still think there is a chance to save the season and that's why this move was made now. Just need a different hand on the wheel. Guess we'll see. We used to sing for a coach with yellow hair. A coach with yellow hair. A coach with yellow hair.
Ozzie_the_parrot
They should have got shot of him after the 8-0 defeat to the Cavalry in 2019. Winnipeg Fury

This is the first I've heard of it. Can you elaborate? That all being said, I feel there is some good talent here but the structure and deployment has been poor. It will be interesting to see how PdS changes the structure and his signing of talent in the off-season. johnyb

Easily the biggest issue, since Day 1, has been unused cap space. Valour just haven't been keeping up. By a ways. I suspect part of that goes back to the NFP structure, but Miller gets to wear some of it as well whether he deserves it or no. Still when the heat is on to perform its hard to not feel a-grieved when you're handicapped by your boss deciding you won't be competing on the "level playing field" a salary capped league is supposed to encourage. Honestly think WFC has woken up to the potential of this venture and don't want to see it underachieve. I find myself wondering what opened their eyes. jonovision
