This is a huge blow to Valour, losing their MVP and arguably the best player in the league during the bubble. The rest of the back line to date has been made up of guys playing out of position, so we'll see how long they can hold up. Word is another CB is about to arrive in town, but we'll see. Bison44
I hope his loan is as mutually beneficial as Dunn's, Pantemis and Sirois has been. Way to go Galey!!!! narduch, johnyb, Dominic94 and 1 other
toontownman
Big chance for Romeo. Doesn't look like he will break TFC. Also hopefully a positive sign Dunn is in their plans for minutes. Dominic94

toontownman
Not sure why they wasted a roster spot on Fordyce last year. Doing it again is an absolute crime imo.

Turns out Danto got into some legal troubles after assaulting an RCMP last fall, so looks like we won't see that career come to fruition. Apparently his Sudanese background had caused delays when Foothills crossed the border in previous years, can't imagine this will help Pottsy3

Pottsy3
Valour's woes are only going to get worse with Jonathan Sirois being recalled by CF Montreal. Silva hasn't looked too sharp in limited time this year, another signing must be on the way. UPDATE, expect to return: https://twitter.com/plattoli/status/1427742773214601220?s=20 Edited August 17, 2021 by Pottsy3 narduch

Unnamed Trialist
If you build a team on quality loanees who can be called back at will by the parent club, you are not really building a team now, are you? I mean, there are even loan contracts that do not permit loanees to be recalled, happens all the time. So what gives? toontownman
I expect those were the terms set by Montreal and Valour just wanted him badly. It's more common for clubs to have the recall clause as much as it sucks. It's all on valour for not having a decent back up if they don't feel they have one. Interesting to see if they promote the giant draft pick or try for another keeper from elsewhere. If he is back in a few weeks when Pantemis is fit they will likely just stay as is. narduch
Its entirely possible that Sirois will be back by Valour's next game (Voyageurs Cup game v. Atletico on Saturday). The loan recall is only really necessary while Pantemis is out due to covid protocols.

m-g-williams
As if my being a Wanderers fan but having season tickets to Atlético wasn't enough in terms of divided loyalties, I've always had a soft spot for Winnipeg. I was out for my morning bike ride through Ottawa earlier wearing my Valour kit, and who passes me and compliments me on my gear but Rob Gale. I friggin' love this league. red card, Ivan, jonovision and 7 others
