gator
TFC once again starting more Americans than the American based team, good to see Laryea's injury wasn't too bad as he's back in the starting lineup, I would like to see Priso in the mix, he seems to be getting more comfortable with each minute he plays! narduch and baulderdash77
Gian-Luca
TFC’s centre backs looking hideous but no CB’s on the bench to replace them. Bradley looking 55 years old tonight
toontownman
Nice to see Singh featured in the promo but neither he, Dunn, Okello or Nelson making the bench. Are they all injured? I know Nelson was with tfc II so that makes sense. Precious little does at TFC the past year or so. narduch
El Hombre
Perez - "Some of the players don't have the legs." Maybe make substitutions in the other games leading up to this one rather than riding the same horses into the ground. El Hombre
Seems like a different team this half for some reason. Edited August 8, 2021 by El Hombre Club Linesman, gator, maccaliam and 1 other
maccaliam
Priso has been dynamite since he came on. Looks so assured out there, and he always seems to make a good decision with the ball. gator, Club Linesman, El Hombre and 2 others
Gian-Luca
Achara for Altidore also made a huge difference. Amazing what a difference it can make to have players out there who can actually run at a decent speed. maccaliam and Ivan
maccaliam
Agreed. The double change made a huge difference. Can’t believe the difference from the first half to the second.

Yeah, his first 15 minutes were rough with 3 or 4 giveaways, but he really excelled afterwards. I was also impressed with the entire Impact backline. ZBG and Bassong can move the ball and I thought Waterman and Miller were solid defensively. Macksam

It's hard to make that determination when you see one without seeing the other. My guess though is that the backline did so well was because they have been seeing regularly playing time. Nancy seems to find a way to get them into games which makes them better players and more comfortable when an injury crisis hits. Guys like Nelson and Okello can't really be expected to do much when called upon when they've had 12 and 55 minutes worth of playing time since May. Same for someone like Shaffleburg who got six minutes for the first time in a month. If you want them to be legitimate substitutes, you have to find a way to get them playing time on a regular basis. If you don't think they are legitimate substitutes, find others who are. Nancy seems to be managing his team pretty well in this regard. maccaliam and gator

Club Linesman
Certainly this year there is a major discrepancy between salaries and results, at least to this point. I remember the financial officer at my place of employment using the Blue Jays as an example of winning without spending the most. He was of course wrong as the Jays payroll was the highest in the league when they won the Wotld Series in 91-92. Typically teams that spend more do better and I am sure that has been demonstrated over the past few years between TFC and Montreal in their results. Hopefully TFC will start playing like an expensively constructed team. narduch
