Should we (will we?) run a vote for the 2020 Voyageurs CanMNT Player of the Year?

1) Should we run a vote this year?

2) If so, do we use the same criteria as previous years?
This would make things very interesting because that would mean only guys who played with the #CanMNT in 2020 would be eligible.
Therefore only guys who were at Camp Poutone 2020 would be eligible to be nominated.
I think this would contribute an interesting twist to the whole thing and would make the V's selection very different from whoever the CSA nominates this year.
Objections to this approach are reasonable though.

I was actually looking at last year's post about this today and was planning on putting up a post in a couple weeks if noone else did.

1) I think we should. I personally enjoy seeing everyone's response and rational.

2) I think the criteria should be changed due to the fact there was hardly any games. Known CMNT committed players should be the requirement. For example if someone wanted to vote Corbeanu that would be ok, but Akindola wouldn't be since as far as w  e know he isn't committed to us.

3) I actually also thought that maybe people should vote for a top 5 since #1 and #2 are basically a given. I like seeing who is all in consideration as a tip player for us.

Who is the given for #2? I feel like between Hutchinson, David, Arfield, Laryea and Larin that's tough.

We should definitely continue the tradition. I'm fine with adjusting the wording of the criteria.

I think people on this board are forgetting David's time at Gent and focusing on the last couple months of 2020. He was the best player in the Belgium league. So yes, I would say David is a given at #2.

Not at all, that's why I've mentioned him as being in the mix for #2. An excellent half year + a mediocre (at best) half year = a good year.

Larin, Hutchinson and Laryea have been good all year long - in spurts they have been at, or near, the top of their respective leagues. So for me, #2 over all of 2020 is a debate. 

Edit: Let me actually add in Eustaquio in place of Arfield as a shout for #2 all year. He has been one of the best midfielders in Portugal in 2020. Arfield has been one of the best in Scotland this season but last season wasn't playing at this level.

It's all good fun but feels a bit hollow.  Don't get me wrong, if we proceed I'll participate and vigoursly tell you all why you're voting incorrectly, but still.

Yes and make the vote for top 3 or 5.  I find it interesting to view everyone's opinion on players ranked 2 to 5.

I say yes but let’s not make it so that they had to attend that one camp in January. Just make it an award for best performers with their clubs this year

With two weeks to go are we going to have a vote?  Given the circumstances this year, open the voting to any active player who has played for the MNT.  I also prefer the vote to rank players from 1-5.
