SpecialK
Just saw this kid on Transfermarkt. Has anyone seen him play? Apparently he’s from Toronto. According to this website he’s playing you U23 minutes, as a 17 year old !!! johnyb, canucklefan, Stryker911 and 1 other 3

Ivan
This kid has been reported on before and may have a prior thread. I'm just too lazy to look it up.
Colliedor
Heard of him before. Should mention he was born in Portugal so I'm gonna assume we're his second option.
jordan
I assume he played yeaterday but haven’t checked the official site, a quick scan shows he started and played 64 on the 12th for the U23’s, in a 2-1 loss https://www.sofascore.com/sporting-cp-u23-cd-cova-piedade-u23/NbtcsTbtc

Are u sure, because everywhere I’m reading he’s born in Toronto move to Portugal, when he was 11 with the sporting Toronto Academy sending him? nolando
Good old article that talks about his move to Portugal as a youth and his development academy in Toronto: https://www.google.com/amp/s/torontoobserver.ca/2014/09/11/acclaimed-sporting-cp-academy-in-toronto-fosters-dreams/amp/ This kid must be equally Canadian and Portuguese I figure. Ya you maybe right. Some sites say Portugal but they don't look convincing to begin with. Did play for Portugal youth teams though, that's for sure. He may have been in camps but not officially playing. Transfermarket is really good with info. But a 17 year old playing U23 mins with ones of biggest teams in Portugal. He’s gonna have some talent . johnyb

Sporting does have a good academy. I trust their ability to at least groom players to be better technically and tactically more so than others. Hurts to say that as a Porto fan. I should say though, despite being called u23, majority of the players seem to be around 18-19 years old. Even had a 16 year old started in that match. Yes, but I’m assuming ( I could be totally wrong) he’s playing against mostly 20+ year old players. That’s gonna say something about his talent. VinceA
Would have preferred him in the next cycle but it doesn't seem like the CSA cares about this tournament much so it is what it is. Never like when the U23 teams uses prospects with no professional experience. We need to be using as many seasoned pros as possible, especially in CONCACAF. narduch
The positive is that he should be match fit. Not sure our opponents will have many professionals either to be honest.

I think my Dutch boys are better but the reality is Ferdi isn’t breaking in and Dias is very unlikely to play for Portugal. Hes a very good prospect that quite frankly would have been a part of their setup in other years. also if we don’t qualify he’s a 2003 who can come back next cycle.
