One American
They could probably win two of the groups - El Salvador, Trinidad and compete against Curacao and Panama. They could easily be better than Curacao, at least in terms of player quality/club pedigree. I think Curacao 2019 was a little overrated. Curacao have 2 championships players who have been down relative to 2019. Their EPL guy never really played in the EPL and is on Unattached United right now. They have a guy who has had a little bit of success in Portugal, and is currently in the second tier there. Then they have a lot of Dutch players at places like Waalwijk and also Middle Eastern leagues. Pretty impressive for a little island. But not a big wow, or anything. If they get Riedewald (he's not eligible, yet, correct?), then Donk, Riedewald, and Becker would be better than Martina, Bacuna, Bacuna. After that, Suriname's quality is basically below average Eredivisie. But that's probably than Curacao's. CanadaFan123
Why would Riedewald join Suriname? He's only 24 with 3 Dutch caps to his name - no chance he switches IMO. He might use them to leverage a Dutch call up but it would be crazy for him to switch.

It all depends on how willing he is to wait out his time. Between Gini, De Jong, Klassen, Van De Beek, Propper, Fer andthey even got some you guys getting called up. Unless you’ve moved to a world class club, it seems the Dutch rate the guys at their local clubs (AZ, Ajax, Feynoord) over a club like Crystal Palace. His previous caps were ages ago when he was more rated as a defender than midfielder. Why not take the opportunity now and enjoy playing with Suriname instead of waiting years and miss a chance of a World Cup for that 1% chance? I'd say his chances of playing for Netherlands at a World Cup are still better than Suriname making the World Cup. That chance has to be less than 1%. If he's going to switch it would make sense to wait until Suriname is in the Octagon at least.
One American
Suriname has a lot of youngsters at top academies, among the best in CONCACAF. They could get better over the next four or five years. And Riedewald is only 24.

Alex
For whatever it’s worth Suriname is not on the Netherlands “safe country” list where you can travel to and from freely. Safe countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands If you live in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the EU travel ban does not apply to you. Clearly this is a huge improvement from what they would have normally fielded. They should be better than Bermuda in our Group. We should still beat them but they are no minnow anymore.
