Match Thread: Island Games - August 15, 2020 - HFX Wanderers v Pacific

Game is at 3pm ET on One Soccer and CBC.

HFX look like one of the weaker teams in CPL on paper.

Pa-Modou Kah makes his debut as Pacific manager.

I think Alessandro Riggi has a chance to be even better than Bustos in this league. i wouldn't write off HFX!

Yeah, not sure HFX looks weak at all. They have current Jamaican, Trini and Haitian internationals in the squad and I think Joao Morelli is going to be a top player in the league. Also a big fan of Beland Goyette and Schaale.

I am really hoping to see Sanoh tomorrow. As an Island guy he is the lone hometown contingent for the Island games (AFAIK).  Hopefully he can turn a few heads this tourney.

One boost for HFX is no travel lag in the Island Games. PFC also but to a lesser extent. 

But Hart can't use it as a crutch anymore. He needs to show improvement such as moving to being a middle tier team.

Just watched the replay of the game , no biggie but is It me or do the design of the two nets look different lol. Looked like one end of the field had one type of goal design and the other a slightly different design or look to it lol. But overall a decent game considering the long layoff since last year’s final.Sorry wrong game thread lol referring to the Cavalry Forge game .

Thanks! I had read that but I was hoping there were some other details. We know so little about his plans. 
 

As an aside, being a supporter of Vancouver Island, I’m finding all this talk of ‘the island’ in reference to P.E.I. confusing

I'm convinced that once the narrowed it down to PEI or Langford they started working on marketing it as Island Games

You're not the only one confused. I just checked TV listings to record the matches and on Rogers the games are being played in Newfoundland and Labrador.
