And by the way, here are all the scores between a CPL team vs. an MLS team. York9 2 Montreal Impact 2 York9 0 Montreal Impact 1 Cavalry 0 Vancouver 0 Cavalry 2 Vancouver 1 Montreal

That’s such a bullshït advantage. The wait/out of form the Forge/HFX will experience is unfair. They should postpone their game and fit the final in some time between now and next week.

According to Montagliani, Forge vs Toronto FC MUST happen before February 16 when the 2021 CCL starts.

TFC - Will they have a coach by then?

Forge - Will they make changes to their squad or use the same one last time?

I missed the beginning of that interview (halftime of the CCL final on TSN) but by the end it sounded like he wasn't sure when CCL was going to start up, and they could have the Voyageurs Cup final as late as like a week before CCL started.

Yah he basically said the CSA will wait for the announcement start of the CCL before they commit to Voyageurs Cup date

So the MLS has no money to pay players but thinks its signing Lionel Messi?

Can I just make a request for planet earth. Can we retire the term "tone-deaf" it means nothing

Great point, and exactly why I feel like the players aren`t going to make further concessions. The specter of not seeing MLS in a while is very real.

Wonder what that means for Forge and the CCL...

USL might get their wish and send their 4 strongest teams after all to CCL 😁

Lol... that would be hilarious. I wonder if USL would agree to do that? I'm pretty sure CPL would have no problem taking the spot.

At this point I doubt the owners or league would care if there was a lockout. They would save tons of money if they have to make a go of it with the current rules in place. Especially Canadian teams

Rollins is saying that the final will be in May or June.

Honestly, if they can't get it done until then, cancel the 2020 edition.  It was a basterdized version of what the tournament should be and if it's held that late it can't even be used to determine Canada's 2020 Champions League spot.

Remember that the 2020 CONCACAF League is still not completed. The 2021 Champions League will likely be after the 2020 Voyageurs Cup.

The 2020 CONCACAF League is scheduled to be completed in the next few weeks.  Weren't they still planning to get the 2021 Champions League going this spring?  I thought that was the point to having the Forge/TFC game in February.  If the Champions League is starting after the Voyagers Cup, then of course hold the Voyagers Cup still.

So what is your solution? Just give TFC the CCL spot?

It sounds liked the 2021 CCL will start late.

If the Voyagers Cup doesn't start before the 2021 CCL does, then it's likely the CSA gives the spot to TFC.  It's a bad option, and makes the CSA look worse for not getting the final done last year.  But it's the option they'll likely take, since it sounded previously like if no Voyagers Cup was held they'd give the spot to the top MLS team.

CONCACAF Announces dates for the 2021 tournament - the draw being February 10 with a start date of April 6 - April 8, the Cup final will have to be played by end of March.

Hoping MLS will have resolve their issues

Two rules in life.

There's never a second shooter.

The MLS and Players Union always come to an agreement.

MLS have announced that preseason begins February 22. So TFC will be ready to play in March.

When does Hamilton preseason start? Will they even be able to field a team for the beginning of April for Concacaf?

I hope for the league's safe. What they are asking of the players looks reasonable but when you look closer at what the players might be giving up IF things goes back to normal...it's pretty outrageous.

If there's a deal - I don't doubt that the owners are willing to lock them out - they are adamant on the CBA being extended by another 2 years while the players have zero sense of urgency. It's really the league's move at this point.

Forge will keep most of their core and they still have time to sign players. They were training the entire CONCACAF League season way beyond the Island games. We know CCL starts beginning of April and that the CanChamp must be played before then - I'm sure they'll be prepared for it even if it means starting earlier

Will they want to though? They have no realistic chance of advancing - is it worth their while to put a squad together months before they'd need to, to play a closed-door, perhaps not even televised, match - particularly when they are going to be playing 2021 CONACAF League and hopefully Voyageurs Cup matches this summer.

If it were I, I'd be sticking up my hand and saying pass.

Where is this self-defeating weak and soft Canadian "politeness" coming from?

Of all the F'N domestic cups in the world where part-timers in the 6th division gives their all to compete against an EPL clubs or top tier club - Only in F'N Canada you'd find fans who'd imply that lower seeded teams should just stay home.

F me...

How are their chances not realistic? TFC have a new coach. They will probably have big roster turn over. They will also have not played a competitive match at that point.

Hell we are only 2 years removed from TFC being knocked out of the Champions League by a lowly Panamanian side.

I just don't understand this mentality. The football mentality of being a billionaire bootlicker essentially.
