Impact should be the favourites but they face the 2nd leg on the road. Plus Olimpia did manage to knock out the MLS Champs

MLS champs and CPL champs (although they weren't CPL champs at the time).

Good luck tomorrow Montreal. A couple years ago I stopped cheering for fellow MLS sides in CCL, but I do make an exception for the Canadian entries.

Poor decision by ZBG to try to step in on the forward for the second goal. He had the inside angle, the pace and Piette to cover the second attacker there was no need to be that aggressive in defence. 
 

Impact have been pretty awful in this first half. Unimaginative in attack, sloppy in keeping their offside trap, deserve to be down.

Just not working tactically in the first half of this olimpia match..piette taider wanyama together in the middle without someone else in the playmaker role is just not working..even taider is more defensive minded..little creativity and not a strong dribbler and not quick..now down 0-2 at home they should go to a back 4 right away and put urruti or quioto as a 10 and bring in jackson or okwonkwo and pull out a cb

I haven’t watch a lot of MLS over the last few years, Bush wasn’t a spectacular keeper but a decent enough shot stopper. From what I’ve seen in CCL I can’t say Diop is an upgrade. Is he better in league play?

Handballs really don’t get more clear than that. It is disgraceful that officiating is consistently this awful in CONCACAF.

I really like ZBG but this is the growing pains with playing the young boys. I really miss Sagna in these situations.

Here is the wording of the revised handball law:   The part in bold is what the referees would have based their decision on.

HANDBALL (LAW 12) Deliberate handball remains an offence. The following ‘handball’ situations, even if accidental, will be a free kick:

• The ball goes into the goal after touching an attacking player’s hand/arm;

• A player gains control/possession of the ball after it touches their hand/arm and then scores, or creates a goal-scoring opportunity;

• The ball touches a player’s hand/arm which has made their body unnaturally bigger;

• The ball touches a player’s hand/arm when it is above their shoulder (unless the player has deliberately played the ball which then touches their hand/arm)

The following will not usually be a free kick, unless they are one of the above situations:

• The ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player who is close/near;

• The ball touches a player’s hand/arm which is close to their body and has not made their body unnaturally bigger;

• If a player is falling and the ball touches their hand/arm when it is between their body and the ground to support the body (but not extended to make the body bigger);

• If the goalkeeper attempts to ‘clear’ (release into play) a throw-in or deliberate kick from a team-mate but the ‘clearance’ fails, the goalkeeper can then handle the ball

I would say the bullet directly below the one you bolded applies as the defenders arms were all over the place.
