US Roster is released on tonight’s LAFC broadcast. Mostly MLS players but a few Euro based players in Llanez and Ledezma, to name two. A few senior team players made the list from the brief glance I saw on the screen - Reggie Cannon, Paxton Pomykal, Jackson Yeuill ..... not going to be easy

Jesus Ferreira best player you didn't mention.

No game is easy, but every game is there to win. I'll reserve my comments till when I see our team....which could be really strong. Either way the talent should be there to make it happen and #BTA (beat the Americans) when the time comes.

Well it looks like TFC wont have any excuses not to release Fraser for this tourney.  Vanney fooled us all and isnt playing him anyway.

Yeah, it's strange because by all accounts Fraser was getting all the reps with the starters in pre-season.

Nothing is strange when it comes to Vanney. He just favours Delgiveaway who's a specialist at nothing.

The Delgado hate from the TFC fan base is dumb. He's very limited offensively, but does so much defensive dirty work that gets overlooked. It's stuff that, frankly, neither Fraser or even Osorio can really replicate.

He was an absolute beast on Saturday, and allowed Osorio to have the freedom to play as a bit of a deep-lying playmaker (something I haven't really seen from him, but he was impressive).

Looks like Tuesday, March 10th, is the CSA's deadline to submit the final 20-player roster on behalf of Biello.

and Friday, March 13th, CONCACAF will publish the final 20-player rosters of all the teams on their website.

@Shway here is the post from the previous page. The CSA are always welcome to announce the roster before the deadline like the USA, but I don't think they will because they are last minute. The #CanWNT play tomorrow, so maybe they will announce it Wednesday or Thursday. Perhaps even Friday when CONCACAF forces them to!

Is anyone else unimpressed with the USA roster? I need to go take a closer look, but at first glance it seemed to be a team we should be competitive with, should we face them. Of course, that depends on who we call.

I actually think they're pretty good and don't think we will be able to be competitive. Obviously, I hope I am wrong and that you are right 😅

You have to consider that all rosters are “B” teams essentially.  So I think theirs is very strong.

We can contend with it but we need to hope for some generous club teams.

For a “B” squad it’s pretty good - and certainly quite a bit stronger than ours

I mean, will we call ZBG? He has been getting all the minutes with the Impact...

I do think ZBG will be with the Olympic team. I think very highly of his play, but we also have Laryea and Cordova.

What makes me hopeful is that we have much more first team experience than last time, or the time before, or the time before that, etc.

We also have more players with senior national team experience than before.

The USA still has more of this experience, but the gap does seem to be less this time around.

For example, Choiniere to date has 22 league appearances in major league soccer, however it's still a toss up whether he'll even be selected. His level of mls pro experience is comparable to some of the American players. Talent may be another story, but at least our guys will not be overwhelmed or star-struck. Gone are the days of fielding academy heavy teams. Our guys have some real experience now.

If we scrap and fight and believe we could qualify. First we must get out of the group. That will not be easy.

Says on the Canada Soccer page roster would be released March 11th.  I would guess there are lots of last minute negotiations right up until the Concacaf deadline to submit.

Montreal are in a bind injury wise and he has been one of their best players in the first two games so could definitely see them trying to keep him for that game.

It's not the end of the world if he doesn't come but he would for sure be a great addition to the squad and a sure starter.

If we make the top 2 in our group, here are the likely teams we would need to face.
The USA squad:

The Mexico squad:

Both are obviously really full of talent.

Haiti...gonna Haiti? They named a 22 player squad(???):

I guess we wait until Friday and CONCACAF to find out the two players that are cut.

Only person I have found that's confirmed is Pantemis - no surprise.

Reports from Ireland saying Twardek was called up.

No big surprise there. Love that Twardek seems to have built a release me for Olympic Qualifiers even though it is outside the FIFA window clause/deal into his contract.

“We knew when we signed Kris this was a possibility. There was an understanding there between ourselves and Kris that if he was called into the squad he’d be available so there’s no issue."

Respect to him for that.
